Best CSGO AWP Players, Learn From the Best

CSGO is a very complex game where five players have to work together to defeat the enemy team.

Needless to say, everyone has a role in the given team, but it seems like most people are interested in the AWPer. The latter is responsible for purchasing the most powerful weapon in the game.

Being a good AWP player in CSGO is not easy, and it takes tons of practice. What’s more, the gun has a lot of specifics, which means that not everyone can use it properly. That’s why there are not that many top-tier AWP players out there.

Trying to come up with a list of the best AWPers in the world is not easy, and it will be controversial. Nevertheless, we’ve decided to write it based on our thoughts and experiences. The list is by no means an official ranking of the best in the world, so don’t be surprised if some of your favorites are not here. Another thing to keep in mind is that the list is in no particular order.

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev 

It probably won’t come as a surprise that we want to start by addressing the elephant in the room. S1mple is most likely the most popular player in CSGO and one of the best in the world. He’s been around since 2013 and has played for various teams. However, most people know him as the best AWP player in Natus Vincere.

Unsurprisingly, a player of his caliber won pretty much everything. In fact, he has 21 individual HLTV MVP rewards, which is a lot, to say the least. S1mple also won the best player of the year award in 2018 and 2021.

People new to CSGO who want to copy their settings will have to use 400 DPI, 1000 HZ Polling Rate, and 3.09 sensitivity. As for the gaming gear, you don’t really need to copy any pro players because something that works for superstars like s1mple might not be okay for you. Just make sure that the mouse you’re using will provide you with some benefits.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo 

Some of you may call FalleN one of the oldest and most experienced players in the game and you would be right. This man has been a part of the Counter-Strike universe since 2004, making him one of the longest active players in the game’s history.

Unsurprisingly, the legendary Brazillian AWPer was part of top-tier teams, even during CS 1.6. However, once CSGO became available, he played for the likes of KaBum! esports, SK Gaming, MiBR, Luminosity Gaming, Team Liquid, and more.

FalleN has always been one of the top-tier AWP players in South America. He is also among the best in the world, which is why he deserves a spot on this list. 

Similar to s1mple, FalleN also uses a 400 DPI and a 1000 Hz Polling Rate. However, he has 2.2 mouse sensitivity and a zoom sens of 1.2.

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz

Everyone who likes CSGO and follows the pro scene won’t be surprised that dev1ce made it here. This is one of the most successful players in CSGO who’s earned almost $2,000,000 throughout his career. Although he is a fierce aimer, most people know him for being one of the best AWP players in Europe.

The Danish star started playing in CS: Source, but he made a name for himself in CSGO. Aside from teams like the Copenhagen Wolves, he was also a part of TSM, Team Dignitas, Astralis, and NIP. Sadly, the player is on NIP’s inactive roster now because he is on medical leave.

Dev1ce won four majors and earned MVP numerous times, which made him one of the best AWP players in the world. Needless to say, many players want to be like him, which is why they use 1k HZ polling rate and 400 DPI. Dev1ce’s sens is 2, whereas his zoom sensitivity is 1.1.

Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov 

Next on the list is the 22–year-old Bulgarian AWP player caller CeRq. Many of you may think that he does not deserve to be on this list yet. However, CeRq has proven himself over the years, which is why he has been a part of Evil Geniuses since 2019.

Over his career, CeRq played for WinFiction and Outlaws. However, his star shined during his stay with NRG Esports. He quickly became famous as one of the best AWP players in Europe, which caught the attention of several big teams. In the end, he decided to join Evil Geniuses.

CeRq uses similar mouse settings to the other players on the list. However, his zoom sensitivity is only 0.7, which must be taken into account.

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut

Despite being just 21 years old, the French superstar has been a part of the big scene since 2016. Some people consider him to be among the best Riflers in the world, but he is also a notable AWP master. 

ZywOo played for a couple of teams over the years, but he became the player most people know after becoming a part of Team Vitality. Mathieu quickly became among the best in the world. Some people even think he will become more popular than s1mple, but we are yet to see if this will happen.

ZywOo uses 2 mouse sensitivity and 1 mouse sensitivity.

Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski

Lastly, we have mantuu, the AWPer that has been around since 2015. Like the other top-tier names on the list, this player has been a part of a couple of top teams, including Alternate aTTaX and OG. 

Mantuu is a well-known aimer, but he is also a fearsome AWP player that people can expect to become even better in the next couple of years. Needless to say, we will keep an eye on OG and mantuu’s performance. The organization is yet to win the most prestigious event in CSGO.
