The Danish machine closed their competitive year with an impressive victory at Riffa.
In their final match, Astralis overran Team Liquid with an impressive 2-0 score. With that done, Astralis secured their top position in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive world rankings until the end of the year – and grabbed $350.000.
Liquid were fighting well in the decisive match of the event: the Americans made their presence at both maps, but it wasn’t enough – Astralis defeated them 16:11 at Inferno and further 16:12 at Nuke.
Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen brought a decent firepower at Inferno, Andreas “Xyp9x”Højsleth and Nicolai “device” Reedtz took the baton at Nuke. This tournament also helped dupreeh earn his first MVP award in 2019, ending BLAST Pro Series Global final with 1.27 rating 2.0 on average and +45 kills-deaths difference.
Things weren't looking as sunny for Liquid after their defeat. This was the seventh match versus Astralis in a row that they couldn’t win. The last time Liquid defeated Astralis was six months ago at ESL Pro League S9 finals.
