ESTNN provides the end date of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7 and looks ahead to Season 8.
Fortnite Battle Royale players worldwide are deeply entrenched in Chapter 2 - Season 7, the latest installment to the four-year-old game. Technically, the current season marks the seventeenth after Epic Games hit the reset button to end Season X and start fresh. The current alien-themed season has objectively been one of the best in recent memory. Epic Games introduced a slew of new weapons, vehicles, collaborations and more for players to experience.
While Season 7 has been enjoyable—all good things must come to an end. The details behind Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 8 are few and far between. However, we have an anticipated end date and a few theories of what could unfold when the new season goes live next month. Some players are looking ahead to what Epic has on the horizon, and today we are looking at the anticipated end date and some of what to expect next season.
Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7 End Date & Season 8 Start Date
We learned back during Season 7’s launch that the final day would be September 12. That keeps it in line with Season 6 and Season 5, which lasted about three months. Thankfully, the days of a five-month Fortnite season seem to be firmly in the past. Epic Games has done an excellent job implementing new items and announcing countless ground-breaking collaborations in Season 7.
Two highlights include the Ariana Grande Rift Tour event and Fortnite World Cup Bugha finally receiving an in-game ICON Series skin. From a gameplay standpoint, the developers created a wide array of new items, including the Inflate-A-Bull, Grab-Itron, Flying Saucers and Rail Guns, to name a few. While Season 7 was an enjoyable experience, it’s almost time to turn the page once again in less than a month.
Chapter 2 - Season 8 Theory
Epic Games has kept Season 8 under wraps as usual. However, that has not stopped leakers like HYPEX from formulating theories based on cryptic tweets and in-game files. For one, it appears “Kevin The Cube” may resurface next season. Old school Fortnite fans might remember the Cube from Chapter 1 - Season 5 when it appeared randomly on the map before making its way to Loot Lake.
The Cube eventually exploded to close Chapter 1 - Season 6, but it certainly left its mark. HYPEX noted that The Cube’s cameo in the Rift Tour event believes Donald Mustard’s recent tweets indicate that The Cube might return. This tidbit is the only tangible theory thus far, and everything is else is purely conjecture. We should learn more in the lead-up to Season 8. We know for sure that Season 7 is due to end on September 12, barring any setbacks.
