Overwatch is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch later in October, and Jeff Kaplan, lead director of Overwatch, has no intentions to quell the rumor mill. Everyone’s favorite Nintendo fighting game, Super Smash Bros. is known to add characters from just about every gaming universe ranging from Persona to Metal Gear Solid, and Street Fighter.
Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan says the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate development team can use "whatever character" from Overwatch they'd like. https://t.co/1p8PRVVDM2 pic.twitter.com/GA103SQuhe

In an interview with IGN, Jeff Kaplan had this to say to the Smash Brothers development team. “To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from.” Now, obviously, there was some bias towards the poster girl of Overwatch, but Kaplan admits that Doomfist has good mechanics for a fighting game. As much hate as she gets, Brigitte’s kit would work great for stuns and throws in the battle arena.
It is already known that the next fighter on the Ultimate Fighter pass will be Terry, but Nintendo has stated that there will be additional DLC fighters next year. If you can’t wait for Super Smash Bros to throw your favorite Overwatch character into Smash, make sure to check out the Overwatch Workshop mode in the meantime.
