Remnant 2 How to Unlock the Alchemist Archetype

In Remnant 2 it is possible to choose an archetype (class) with which to start the game between the Challenger, the Hunter, the Medic, and the Handler (for those who have pre-ordered the game it is also possible to choose the Gunslinger). However, once you advance in the course of history, it will be possible to equip a second archetype among those present at the beginning or among those that you can discover. In Remnant 2, in fact, it is possible to discover new archetypes if certain requirements are met. For this reason, in this article, we have decided to explain how to unlock the Alchemist archetype.

The Alchemist is a class focused on support, which turns out to be very useful for giving your allies powerful buffs thanks to the use of vials and consumables. The fundamental role of this archetype is, therefore to improve the effectiveness of your team thanks to the use of various beneficial effects and skills designed specifically to be able to support your teammates.

The Alchemist has several perks available that can be very useful in battle, especially when you are about to face stronger enemies. The Prime Perk of this archetype is “Spirited”. It allows this class to have an additional Concoction buff active. When he reaches level 5 or 10, another additional active Concoction buff can be added.

As for skills, the Alchemist has three skills available that can be used throughout the game. Note well, however, that they can be equipped one at a time and have very long cooldown periods, so you'll have to choose well when to use them in order to make them as efficient and effective as possible. The first ability, “Vial: Stone Mist”, creates a cloud of vapor that lasts for 10 minutes and applies the Stoneskin status to your team members. Stoneskin lasts for 15 seconds and allows you to reduce damage taken by 25%, increase Blight Buildup Decay Rate, reduce Stagger effect by 1, and make the target immune to status effects.

The second ability is called “Vital: Frenzy Dust” and also creates a cloud of vapor but applies the Frenzied status. This state lasts for 15 seconds and allows you to increase Fire Rate, Reload Speed, Melee Speed by 20%, and Movement Speed by 15%. The third and final ability, “Vital: Elixir of Life”, creates a cloud of vapor that lasts 10 seconds and applies the Living Will state. Thanks to this status, the target will have guaranteed access to 5 health regeneration per second and protects against fatal attacks. Additionally, it is also capable of resurrecting downed enemies if they are fully healed.

How to unlock Alchemist in Remnant 2

As we said at the beginning of this article, in Remnant 2 there are archetypes that are not available from the start but are unlocked if the requirements are met. This is also the case with the Alchemist, who will not be present from the start but can be unlocked if you follow our guide.

First of all, in order to be able to unlock this archetype, you must have the “Philosopher's Stone” Enegram. To get hold of this item, you must first obtain the material associated with it which can be obtained by defeating the enemy Manticore. This enemy can be dealt with during the Manticore from the Drain Event that happens in Losomn and that can be activated when standing near a drain, although it is not possible to tell which is the right one and which is not.

Since this is an event and therefore random in nature, it may or may not appear in your game. If you want to unlock this archetype and this event has not appeared in your run, our advice is to restart the world and try again, until the Manticore from the Drain Event appears. Once it appears, you will be able to defeat this enemy, which has nothing to fear, since it is a very easy enemy to defeat. After defeating the Manticore, you will be able to obtain the right material to obtain the Philosopher's Stone. At this point, go to Wallace in Ward 13 to get the Philosopher's Stone.
