Joon-yeong “Profit” Park
Profit is one of our few Legends left in the Overwatch league. Along with the likes of Byung-sun “Fleta” Kim and Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, he was part of the original roster of players at the kickoff of the league, and has proven his value since the very first day. In free agency, this two time Stage winner and 2018 Overwatch League Champion will have no trouble finding a new team. The question of everybody's mind isn't what team Profit will get, rather; which team gets Profit? As we've seen from the Atlanta Reign transfers, more players are willing to pick up and move since the COVID restrictions have been dropped. It's possible we'll see Profit return to the West, or fill one of the many holes in Eastern teams like the recently vacated Shanghai Dragons.
After Profit's four year long teammate Jae-hee “Gesture” Hong retired from the league at the end of 2021, Profit was still surrounded by players he was familiar with. For the first time since entering the league, we will likely see Profit with a team he has to start from square one with in terms of integration. It will be the most unfamiliar roster he's been a part of since his first day barring the chance he gets picked up alongside other Seoul Dynasty teammates.
Seoul Dynasty
The Tigers officially have an empty roster. No familiar faces, no faces at all. They, alongside quite a few other teams, will do what the Toronto Defiant have done for four years running. Cleaning house, and starting anew. Seoul has never rostered a non-Korean player before, so the most likely outcome is for the team to either take in Korean players leaving Western teams and Chinese teams in the East. Though there is a second possibility. In the 2022 season, Seoul invested some space on the team for rookie players from Contenders, and now that they have an empty roster, we may see a mix of veteran and rookie players to league on the 2023 Seoul Dynasty.
