Overwatch League: Vancouver Titans Announce their New Roster

The Titans have completely revamped their roster.

Only 24 hours before the Overwatch League was set to kick off week 14, the Vancouver Titans unveiled a freshly acquired roster.

Earlier in the week, the Vancouver Titans announced that they had released their entire roster. This was not surprising considering the rumors circulating in the days leading up to this week. The Vancouver Titans have picked up six Contenders players, William “Caden” Loll, Abtin “ShRedLock” Shirvani, Dalton “Dalton” Bennyhoff, Samir “Tsuna” Ikram, Carson “Carcar” First, Alhumaidi “KSAA” Alruwaili, and Randal “Roolf” Stark. A substantial number of their new recruits are from North America Contenders team Second Wind. They have been at the top of their game since the early months of 2020.

The Vancouver Titans have not had a successful run in 2020 so far. That's even after bringing in superstar players Jehong “Ryujehong” Ryu and Chanhyung “Fissure” Baek. Players unhappy with the management style of the Vancouver Titans removed the team from their social channels in protest, sparking the initial concern. The Vancouver Titans have two matches this weekend, and despite Second Wind competing in Contenders just last week, moving to the Overwatch League might be jarring for them.

This will be a test for the former Second Wind squad as well as the Vancouver Titans as an org. It's hard to say how this team will perform in the big leagues, but it'll certainly be interesting to watch.
