The Toronto Defiant announced the release of interim Head Coach David “Lilbow” Moschetto from the team.
The Overwatch League Playoffs are already over for the Toronto Defiant, who lost against the Los Angeles Gladiators on their first match. One week after the team’s elimination from Playoffs, the Toronto Defiant announce some “difficult decisions” to come. The first of these decisions is the release of interim Head Coach David “Lilbow” Moschetto.
Today, we are saying goodbye to @LilbowSC. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to coaching the team throughout the season, as well as stepping in as our Interim Head Coach. We wish you the best in your future! #RiseTogether pic.twitter.com/VSEvxwl91m

Moschetto is a former professional StarCraft II player. He joined the Toronto Defiant back in October 2019 as a Strategic Coach. In April 2020, the Defiant’s Head Coach Félix “FeFe” Munch retires from Overwatch. Moschetto takes his place temporarily, as an interim Head Coach.
Under Moschetto’s leadership, the Toronto Defiant placed third in the Overwatch League 2020 Summer Showdown. However, this is the only time the team has seen a podium. They placed 15th during the regular season and lost in the first round of Overwatch League Playoffs.
Adam Adamou, Owner of the Toronto Defiant, said on Twitter that he was disappointed with his team’s results. While he takes full responsibility for the early elimination of the Defiant, he also put the blame on the strategic staff. According to him, the strategies put in place lacked focus and weren’t reactive enough.
As Moschetto was both the Strategic Coach and interim Head Coach, he is the first one to blame for the poor results of his team. The Toronto Defiant announced his release from the team today through a tweet.
Moschetto has made no comment regarding the situation. He seems to be moving forward, as he currently recruits French players to play Among Us, an online game where players are all part of a spaceship, but with one traitor on board.
