Atlanta Reign's Potential
For the time being, dafran is the only Reign player with weight behind his name. Not to doubt the skills of his teammates, but it is very likely dafran will be spearheading the team’s popularity, ability, and overall attention. Lucky for Reign’s marketing team, dafran is a popular streamer on Twitch, known for trolling and not taking the game as seriously as his peers. Unfortunately for the Reign, he has a controversy due to that funny “toxic gameplay.” In June 2017, dafran was suspended from all Blizzard events and banned for throwing games in ranked for Competitive Season 5. This caused him to be benched from the starting roster of pre-OWL superstar team Selfless Gaming. After all that, dafran quit playing professionally and claimed that competing and scrimmaging had “made [him] very depressed and bored.”
Every member of the eight-man squad has several seasons of Contenders and LAN experience. However, like most of the Expansion Teams, none of their roster has played in the Overwatch League. Due to their lack of experience, it may be difficult for the Atlanta Reign to make a name for themselves in their inaugural Overwatch League Season.
