Overwatch Contenders presents the Overwatch SEA Invitational

The SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders, organized by Blizzard and The Foundry, gives eight Asian teams the chance to win round-trip flights to compete in Anaheim for the upcoming Overwatch World Cup.


The Foundry, previously known as Full Circle, partnered with Activision-Blizzard to present the SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders. The competition will take place on September 21 and 22, live on Twitch. The SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders features eight major teams from East Asia, South East Asia and Oceania.

The teams joining the SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders for this year are:

  • Team Hong Kong
  • Team Chinese Taipei
  • Team Japan
  • Team Malaysia
  • Team New Zealand
  • Team Philippines
  • Team Singapore
  • Team Thailand

The SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders offers no cash prize for the winner, but round-trip flights to come in Anaheim and join this year’s Overwatch World Cup. The eight competing teams will face off in a single-elimination bracket, each team seeded based on their 2018 Overwatch World Cup results. The winning team will not only show their value but also gain tickets to the BlizzCon 2019, which will host the Overwatch World Cup on November 1 and 2.

SEA Invitational Schedule

The eight Pacific teams will face off in the SEA Invitational presented by Overwatch Contenders for two days:

Day 1: Saturday, September 21 — Round of 8

  • Quarterfinal 1 – 11:00 AM – Thailand vs. Philippines
  • Quarterfinal 2 – 1:00 PM – Hong Kong vs. Singapore
  • Quarterfinal 3 – 3:00 PM – Chinese Taipei vs. Malaysia
  • Quarterfinal 4 – 5:00 PM – Japan vs. New Zealand

Day 2: Sunday, September 22 — Semifinals & Grand Final

  • Semifinal 1 – 11:00 AM – QF1 vs. QF2
  • Semifinal 2 – 1:00 PM – QF3 vs. QF4
  • Grand Final – 3:00 PM – SF1 vs. SF2

 

All matches will start at 11:00 AM GMT+8 and will run until all scheduled matches are completed.
