Not every hero is up to scratch in Overwatch 2, Season 2. Here's who isn't worth your pick.
Season 2 of Overwatch 2 is finally here, bringing some pretty interesting changes. Aside from the fact that we have a new hero and map, there will also be loads of different skins, special events, and much more.
As expected, the new Overwatch 2 season also brought some changes to certain heroes. We’ve already covered some of the best heroes in the patch, but now, it is time to look at something else. While it is true that everyone is free to play whatever they want, there are certain heroes that are not worth it. With that said, let’s learn more about them.
Ramattra
Speaking of the new hero in Season 2 of Overwatch 2, we think that Ramattra is one of the heroes that are not that good right now. In fact, it is safe to say that he is one of the worst tanks in the game, regardless of the bracket you’re in. Many people were surprised by it because most new Overwatch 2 heroes are really strong, especially at first.
Following our tests, we think the hero is just not as good as he should be. There is nothing wrong with his kit or the way he plays, but his damage output and cooldowns are just not on the level they should be. In other words, there are loads of other tanks that are just better because of their damage and shorter CDs.
The fact that Ramattra is not that good right now does not mean you should not play with him. On the contrary, the hero can do a pretty good job, but you just need to know how to utilize his power. Since he is new, most Overwatch 2 players don’t know how to deal with him yet, so you should use this to your advantage.
Hanzo
Even though the Overwatch 2 tanks are really strong, some people are more interested in playing DPS. There are tons of good options in S2 right now, but after playing for a bit, we feel like Hanzo is not one of them. Even though there is nothing wrong with the hero, he just does not feel as strong as before. He did not receive any nerfs, but it seems like the buffs to others, making Hanzo feel somewhat weak.
One of the things that have an effect on Hanzo in OW2 is that he does not benefit a lot from the DPS passive. While some heroes are more than happy with their reload buff that allows them to shoot much faster, Hanzo is not one of them. To make matters worse, Overwatch 2 did not give the hero anything new and even nerfed one of his abilities.
To sum up, Hanzo is playable, and you can do some sick plays if you are perfect, but he is definitely not a hero you should focus on. You will find way better options, such as Tracer, Widowmaker, and even Ashe.
Sombra
Since some of the Overwatch 2 devs said that the hero received too many nerfs than she should’ve, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Sombra is one of the worst heroes right now. People who’ve played during Season 1 of Overwatch 2 remember that she was one of the strongest heroes in the game, at least in the beginning. However, after many nerf, she is just a mere shadow of what she is capable of.
Nowadays, Sombra can only work in setups where the team really needs her ultimate. Other than that, her damage output and survivability are not something to brag about. What’s even worse for the hero is the fact that Tracer is excellent in the current meta, meaning that she gets even fewer picks.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Sombra receives some kind of buffs shortly. Be sure to check our website for more information.
Mei
The next DPS on the list when it comes down to Overwatch 2 heroes you should focus on is Mei. This may not come as a surprise because the hero is just no as good as most of us thought.
Prior to the arrival of OW2, people expected Mei to be really good because she received a lot of damage boost. Sadly, this came at the cost of her utility, and it seems like the changes were not for the better.
Due to the new 5v5 format and her weaker Ice Wall, Mei is just not as good as she was before. Sure, the hero can do a lot of damage, but she needs to be close to her targets, which is not good, especially in a meta where tanks dominate.
Bastion
Despite the changes that the hero received in Overwatch 2, Bastion continues to be one of the worst heroes in the game. The lack of any movement abilities means that he relies a lot on his team. Sure, his damage output is insane, but he is also an easy target for the enemy’s DPS, especially heroes like Widowmaker and Tracer.
Bastion could work in some instances, but the hero requires a pocket healer. Similar to Overwatch, he is strong in the lower ranks because every good OW 2 player knows how to deal with him.
Brigitte
When it comes down to Overwatch 2 supports, almost all heroes can do well, depending on the combo. However, if we have to point out one name that is not as good as the rest, we have to focus on Brigitte.
Similar to Season 1 in Overwatch 2, the hero is just not as good as she was in Overwatch, especially when she became available. The hero does not heal a lot, and her peels are not really that good unless she has to “ bodyguard” someone. However, considering that the meta DPS is fast and always on the move, the hero does not bring that much value.
Of course, we must also remember that Brigitte is not that good against most tanks. Needless to say, the best tanks right now can easily rip through her.
