Overwatch 2: How To Solo Carry Your Games

If you want to know how to solo carry your games in Overwatch 2, go through the tips below.

Overwatch 2 is a game where you have to rely on your team to win, at least most of the time. Although Season 4 changed some things, OW 2 is and will be a team-based game. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t carry yourself to your desired rank by being better than everyone else.

We won’t go into further detail about the things you need to know about how to improve in Season 4 because we have a separate article for it. With that said, there are many other things you need to know if you want to solo carry your games. In fact, the concept of “solo carrying” can only work in the lower ranks because it is hard to pull it off against some of the best in the world.

Let’s learn more about the things to keep in mind.

Master Tracer

The first and probably the most important thing you need to do is focus on a specific hero that’s broken in Overwatch 2 Season 4 and can carry games on its own. There are several names that deserve this honor, but Trace is probably the best. In fact, we’ve placed her among the S-Tier heroes in our Overwatch 2 Season 4 Hero Tier List, which contains many other names.

There is no arguing that Tracer is the best carry in the hands of people who know how to use the hero properly. She’s mighty in a variety of drafts, but what makes her really annoying is her swiftness. Those who know how to use her cooldowns can kill pretty much the entire enemy team and get away with it.

The only bad news about Tracer is that the hero has an incredibly high skill cap. As a result, you will need to dedicate a lot of time before you can carry your teammates.

Despite having the lowest HP in the game, Tracer’s ability to dodge damage and be all over the map makes her incredibly hard to deal with. Opponents who don’t know how to play against the hero will have many problems, which is good news for you because you can kill them easily.

Stop dying for no reason

Whether you decide to play Tracer or another hero that’s really strong in Overwatch 2 Season 4, you need to stop dying for no reason. Learning how to solo carry your games is not easy, especially if you keep dying without giving anything in return. Therefore, you must focus on your positioning and decision-making.

Not dying in a game sounds easy on paper, but it is very difficult, especially if you’re the team’s tank or healer. Knowing your limits can make a massive difference when playing because you will become an easy target once you overextend. Needless to say, you should not let this happen because the enemy team will take advantage of you.

One of the things to keep in mind if you want to survive for longer is to keep a close eye on your enemies.  Knowing where they are and how they can affect you will allow you to make riskier moves that can be rewarded.

Don’t always chase kills

All Overwatch 2 players like to get as many kill as possible. However, those who want to know how to solo carry their games in Season 4 should remember that chasing kills is not always a good idea. Sure, it might be satisfying to land a kill on someone you don’t like, but there are cases where it is just not worth going for it.

The main reason why good Overwatch 2 players don’t chase kills is that they will find themselves in a bad position afterward. Some heroes have to use a lot of their cooldowns to do that, which will put them in a difficult position once the engagement is over.

Don’t trade kills unless it is worth it

One of the big misconceptions when it comes down to Overwatch 2, is that some players believe trading kills is worth it. Although there might be some situations where this is true, such as when you’re a DPS, and you will bring down the tank, usually, it isn’t the case.

Since you want to know how to solo carry out games in Overwatch 2 Season 4, you should start by not trading kills unless it is absolutely needed. Every second when you are dead means that you won’t be helping your team, which may result in losing the advantage you had

Use your teammates as much as possible

The fact that you are trying to carry the specific Overwatch 2 Season 4 match on your own doesn’t mean you should not use your teammates at all. Regardless of how bad they might be, they will always bring something to the table. Whether they have a stun, slow, or become the enemy teams’ training dummy, you can use this to your advantage.

Everyone makes mistakes, so taking advantage of them is the easiest way to win a game in Overwatch 2 Season 4. So, even if your teammates are not the best, they always offer something that will allow you to use it to your advantage and kill your opponents.

Force the enemys’ cooldowns

Even though this can be incredibly risky because you can always die, forcing your enemies to use their cooldowns can help you and your team a lot. Assuming you are better than the players in your rank, you can use this and make them use some of their big cooldowns before the beginning of a fight. Doing this will give your team a huge advantage because their enemies won’t be able to rely on them.
