Let’s take a look at some of the Overwatch 2 Heroes with the lowest Competitive win rate.
Although we already know some things about the upcoming Overwatch 2 Season 7, many people are doing everything possible to reach the rank they want during Season 6. Achieving this is easier said than done because the current meta is really diverse. Consequently, you can play with a wide range of Overwatch 2 heroes and win your games.
Even though all positions are popular, there are more DPS players than healers and tanks, which is why this article is devoted to them. We’re going to take a look at some of the Overwatch 2 DPS heroes with the lowest win rate. Thanks to OverBuff, we can take a look at the best and worst heroes in the Competitive and Quickplay modes. We know that most people like playing competitively, so let’s analyze the data and check the Overwatch 2 DPS heroes whose win rate is a lot lower than the rest.
Sombra
Even though Sombra had a glimmer of hope in Season 5 because some people used her when playing against certain tanks, it seems like those times are gone. Nowadays, Sombra is the worst Overwatch 2 DPS hero in Season 6, and her win rate proves it. With a little over 44%, this is a hero who clearly loses most of the games she’s in. That’s why it’s no surprise that most players avoid her.
Sombra could work in the meta, but only when there is a specific target on the enemy team that needs to get hacked. Moreover, Sombra could only work in a dive setup, and she’s not that effect even then because she is fragile.
Cassidy
It may not come as a surprise, but one of the worst Overwatch 2 DPS heroes in Competitive play right now in terms of win rate is Cassidy. He is one of the heroes who can work in the current meta, but only if the player is really good and knows what he’s doing. The bad news is that most Overwatch 2 players do not fall into this category.
The big problem with Cassidy is his Magnetic Grenade. Following the rework, people expected this hero to feel balanced, but the reality was that he was not as strong as before. In fact, he is one of the worst DPS heroes right now, which is one of the reasons why we think he is among the heroes that should be reworked in the upcoming updates.
In Season 6, Cassidy will work really well if your aim is on point and you land as many headshots as possible. The hero still has one of the worst ultimates in the game, which is another reason for his win rate, which is around 45.78%. Interestingly, the hero’s pick rate is around 3%, which is not bad when comparing him to other Overwatch 2 DPS heroes.
Sojourn
Most of you probably did not expect to see Sojourn here because she is one of the heroes who’s often the star of her team. Sojourn’s deadly right-click and ultimate can win team fights, and a lot of the best Overwatch 2 players are using this to their advantage. However, it seems like most of the lower-level players do not know how to do that, which explains her low win rate.
At the time of writing this article, Sojourn’s win rate is 46.22%, which is better than the previous two heroes but definitely not the best. With that said, this hero will always have a low win rate because of her high skill cap. So, if you are a good Sojourn player, do not let the stats fool you – she is incredibly strong. You just have to make sure you can land your Railgun headshots.
Mei
Another hero that only works for some players is Mei. Although she is not as complicated to master as Sojourn, she is among the heroes who can’t do much if the player does not know what he is doing. That’s one of the reasons why Mei has one of the lowest win ratings at 46.63%.
Mei has received several buffs and nerfs in the last couple of patches, and it’s safe to say that she is in a fairly good spot right now. Even though her win rate is around 46.63%, many players have proven that she can work in the given meta. It all comes down to the setup because Mei is not a hero you can have in Dive or Poke. She excels in the brawl combos, which are popular right now, but they are not the only thing people are playing.
Widowmaker
The next hero on our list, when it comes down to Overwatch 2 DPS heroes with the lowest win rate, is Widowmaker. She is very similar to Mei and Sojourn in many ways because she is good, but only if the player knows how to use her. Widowmaker has always been about landing headshots, so people who are not good at it often have difficulties winning their games.
Widowmaker was definitely the DPS hero to have in Season 5, but after Blizzard nerfed her, she is a situational pick. Currently, her win rate is around 47.23%, which is not that bad compared to the rest, but not that good. The main reason for her high win rate is that she is strong in a Poke setup. Widowmaker can be a good pick depending on the enemies you face because of her ability to one-shot, but remember that her damage output is not as high as before because of the nerfs.
Conclusion
As mentioned earlier, the fact that some heroes have a lower win rate does not mean they are not good. On the contrary, you can make the hero work, but only in a specific setup or if you are really good with it. That’s one of the reasons why most Overwatch 2 players prefer using other heroes.
