League of Legends: G2 Caps Heads to ADC as Perkz Returns to Mid?

The offseason has had a few ‘shock’ moves, like Broxah heading to Team Liquid and LCS sides fielding just one North American player in the mid lane. It might be safe to assume, however, that G2 Esports sending Caps to ADC and Perkz back to mid lane might be the biggest shock of the offseason since… well, Perkz went ADC last season.

Now, before we get too excited, it’s worth noting that even though it’s all over the player’s social media and G2 esports “technically” announce it on Twitter, though, in a way that only G2 Esports can, we have to take this news with a pinch of salt. That said, it’s always fun to speculate.

The A”nnouncement”

G2 Esports release one of their “talking heads” style video that they use for the team’s LEC Mic Check series featuring a pre-queue lobby of Perkz and Caps. It starts with Perkz asking Rasmus (Caps) how his offseason was before Caps proclaims it was “pretty fun, pretty fun. How about yours?”. The two continue to chat before locking in their roles for the game. Perkz takes mid with Caps taking ADC. The video ends with a checky “;)” and G2 Esports CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago saying “are you serious”. We don’t know Carlos, are you?

Caps and Perkz have also posted a few things across social media about the ‘news’.

G2 Esports even through its hat back in the ring with another Tweet later stating: “Imagine thinking the biggest roster move has already happened…”

Is This Just Another G2 Meme?

Of course, this is always possible. While G2 Esports loves a meme and a joke, the fact the team moved Perkz into ADC in the first place makes this news not entirely unlikely. If it does end up being a joke, then we all had a little fun and we can go back to expected even more madness from G2 in the future. Remember, they’ve still got a support pick to announce.
