League of Legends: 100 Thieves sign former OpTic Gaming jungler Meteos

100 Thieves has confirmed the signing of former OpTic Gaming (now Immortals) jungler William “Meteos” Hartman. The jungeler became a free agent on Monday. The former OpTic Gaming jungler will join 100 Thieves as the team’s new starting jungler for the 2020 split.

100 Thieves have had a quiet offseason so far with only one other addition to the roster in the form of mid laner Tommy “ry0ma” Le who is expected to join the team’s academy roster. 100 Thieves did, however, add former LCK analyst Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith as the team’s new General Manager of League of Legends.

Meteos has had a long career in the North American scene, being somewhat of a journeyman. In the past, he’s played long stints at Cloud9, Pheonix1 and later OpTic Gaming. Meteos was also a part of 100 Thieves back in late 2017 when the team came first in the 2018 Spring Split. Though they failed to be crowned champions, falling 3-0 to Team Liquid in the final.

100 Thieves is likely to still be in the market for a support player. Since current starter, Zaqueri “aphromoo” Black, is out of contract as of Monday. The team’s current starting roster as things stand is:

  • Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho
  • William “Meteos” Hartman
  • Max “Soligo” Soong
  • Baeo “Bang” Jun-sik

Though it could be just as likely that Soligo does not make the cut, with 100 Thieves having trouble in 2019 with a settled starting mid laner.
100 Thieves also crowned the moment with a truly great bit of content creation. Something 100 Thieves is quickly becoming defined by.
