MOUZ got through the IEM Beijing group stage without dropping a map, and The MongolZ needed three maps to beat FURIA in the Group A upper final. Both teams skip the quarterfinals. Four other teams play two best-of-three series on Friday, November 6, the semifinals follow on Saturday, and a best-of-five grand final closes the event on Sunday.
How the groups ended
Each group ran as a double-elimination bracket of best-of-three series, and only the group winners skipped the quarterfinals. The MongolZ beat Legacy 2-1, HEROIC 2-0 and FURIA 2-1, and never lost a series. MOUZ beat TYLOO, BetBoom and PARIVISION, all 2-0, for six maps won and none lost.
Four teams took the longer route. FURIA played three series and all three went to a third map: 2-1 over FaZe, 2-1 over Natus Vincere, then the 1-2 loss to The MongolZ. Natus Vincere answered with a 2-0 win over B8 and a 2-1 win over Falcons in the lower bracket, after beating Falcons 2-0 on November 2. BetBoom lost 0-2 to MOUZ, then beat Aurora 2-0 and Liquid 2-1. PARIVISION lost only to MOUZ, in the Group B upper final.
Legacy, FaZe, G2 and 9z went out on November 3. Falcons, HEROIC, B8, TYLOO, Aurora and Liquid followed on November 4, all per HLTV.

What a quarterfinal is worth
HLTV’s prize table pays the champion $125,000 plus a $235,000 club share and the runner-up $50,000 plus $160,000. A quarterfinal exit pays $12,500 plus a $75,000 club share, while a semifinal run guarantees at least fourth place at $20,000 plus $100,000.
PARIVISION against Natus Vincere opens the day at 07:30 Paris time. Each lost only once in the groups, PARIVISION to MOUZ and Natus Vincere to FURIA. At 10:45, FURIA face BetBoom. As PGL Masters Bucharest winners on October 31, and Cologne Major finalists who lost to Falcons in June, they can add a second title in eight days. BetBoom are the one quarterfinalist who had to win a lower final to get here.
Road ahead
The quarterfinals start Friday, November 6 at 07:30 Paris time (1:30 AM ET), and the grand final is Sunday, November 8 at 08:30 Paris time (2:30 AM ET).
