Here is how to fix Nightingale Network Error .
Nightingale, at least right now is an always online game. That’s fine, when everything works. Sadly, as games release, especially ones with a lot of hype they tend to run into issues. That’s exactly what’s happened here, so let’s take a look at some of the ways we can try and fix it. If you have other issues, check out our Known Issues and Fixes page.
Nightingale Network Error
Here are a selection of options you can try to fix the issue:
- Restart the Game:
- This pretty simple solution is known to work, and it’s the one that requires the least work from your side. While “turn it off and on again” is a bit of a meme when it comes to technical issues, it does work.
- Verify Game Files:
- As with many titles that release into early access sometimes the files can get a little mixed up. So, get those files verified and try again:
- Right-click on Nightingale in your Steam Library
- Choose the Properties and then navigate to the Installed Files tab
- Select the Verify Integrity of Game Files option. This option will repair and download any files that might have had issues
- As with many titles that release into early access sometimes the files can get a little mixed up. So, get those files verified and try again:
- Check Server Status:
- Another basic option is to simply check the current server status of the game. The game is always online, thus any server issues will cause you issues even if you’re playing solo
- Additional Checks:
- Game Updates: Make sure the game is up to date. Early access titles drop hotfixes often, so restart Steam to force an update to the game
- System Requirements: You can find them here
- Network Connection:
- Consider switching to a wired connection
- Disable any VPNs you might be using
- Firewall and Antivirus:
- Check that your firewall or antivirus software isn’t blocking Nightingale or Steam’s connection
- Try to disable them to see if they’re blocking the game
- Other Applications:
- Close any program using a lot of network usage
- Steam Admin Mode:
- Run Steam and the game as an administrator – This has been confirmed to work by some on the game’s Discord
- Reboot Your PC:
- Try turning it off an on again?
- Driver Updates:
- Update GPU drivers and latest Windows update
- SSD Installation:
- Move the game onto an SSD
- Use a wired connection – While not practical for everyone, it has been found to help some people
If the issue continues
The issue is server-side, which means it may just solve itself after a number of parameters are met:
- Is it during peak times
- Is the server you were playing on full
- Are there no local servers left
In the section below about the Shards Error, it was noted that the latest patch might fix some of these issues, however they may also cause more. We’ll update this story as we get more info.
Nighting Disconnecting issue
For those getting disconnecting during gameplay, you can try the following:
- Enable VSYNC if it is not enabled
- Enable DLSS
- Enable Both
- The 3rd person mode has also been known to cause crashing/disconnect
Play for a period first with each enabled on their own.
Nightingale Shards Error
What’s Happening: Not able to play in your realm due to server issues called a “Shards Error”
Solution: This is due to the game being in maintenance while it patches. You can read the latest patch notes here.
