How to Find the Noblestalk in Baldur’s Gate 3

The quickest way to get the magical shroom in Baldur's Gate 3. Here's how to find the Noblestalk.

Baldur's Gate 3's epic storyline is set in a massive open-world filled with magical secrets. One of these is a very rare mushroom called the Noblestalk which can only be found in the most dangerous place of Act 1: the Underdark.

The Underdark's large biome is home to plenty of strange and equally dangerous creatures, all of them a player in the Underdark's storyline. But among its killer fauna is a highly valuable item that has a secret use for Shadowheart's lost memories.

If you haven't already finished the Emerald Grove storyline, there will be light spoilers ahead. This guide will also assume that you've already found a way to get to the Underdark.

Want to know more about Shadowheart's past? Curious about how much the Noblestalk mushroom is worth in gold? In any case, here's how to find the Noblestalk in Baldur's Gate 3.

Once you make your way to the Myconid colony (north of the Underdark – Selune Outpost entrance), speak to the merchant Derryth near the main entrance. She'll tell you about her husband Baelen who hasn't come back from picking mushrooms, starting the “Find the Mushroom Picker” sidequest.

From the Myconid colony, head west into the Dread Hollow area until you spot a green cluster of bulbs below. Continue along the path until you find Knotted Roots which you can use to climb down.

There will be a bridge connecting to the large cluster of green Bibberbang bulbs. Be extremely careful when approaching them, as they spread poisonous gas and explode in proximity to fire. Triggering the chain explosion here will result in the Noblestalk being lost forever.

The blue Noblestalk mushroom can be found at the rightmost wall of the Bibberbang cave in the Underdark.

To progress the “Find the Mushroom Picker” sidequest, use your Mage Hand to toss the stranded Dwarf's backpack to him and throw the nearby torch away from the volatile Bibberbangs. Speak to Baelen, and he'll give you a Scroll of Invisibility for your troubles.

Going back to the Myconid colony, you'll get the option to hand Derryth the Noblestalk, but there's a few more things you can do with the rare mushroom.

What Is the Noblestalk For?

The Noblestalk is a mushroom that releases a highly medicinal aroma. In other words, it can cure mostly anything, which presents some interesting options.

Despite only costing 75 gp, the unusual shroom also has the ability to cure amnesia, which can unlock some pretty cool cutscenes with certain characters.

Using the Noblestalk mushroom on a Dark Urge character brings back some memories from their troubled past, which is mostly unknown thanks to the evil background's condition. To learn more about Baldur's Gate 3's unique background option, check out our complete guide here.
