How to Farm Narrow Minded Mod in Warframe – Essential Tips

Wondering how to get your hands on the Narrow Minded mod for your Warframe? Here’s our guide to finding it

Warframe, the massively popular free-to-play looter-shooter title from Digital Extremes, is stepping into its 11th year. With each new expansion that they add to the game and each new Warframe that comes out, more and more new players are jumping into it almost every day.

Now, this isn’t an easy game to get into. It’s extremely grind-heavy, and understanding the different resources and items in the game will definitely take a while for a new player.

Mods are an important part of Warframe that you add to your Frame and Weapons to boost their attributes. There are thousands of Mods in the game, and Narrow Minded is one of the more popular ones among them. Almost all builds that rely on Ability Duration use this mod as a core component.

While most mods in the game can drop from random enemies, farming Narrow Minded requires a more direct approach. You need to farm them from Orokin Derelict Vaults, and if you’re new to the game, we’re sure you don’t know how to do that.

Don’t worry; in this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Narrow Minded and its farming location so that you can pick this one up without too much hassle. Let’s hop in!

Narrow Minded is a Corrupted mod available in Warframe. Corrupted mods are not the same as other mods in the game. While most basic mods offer a boost without any drawback, Corrupted mods penalize you for equipping them.

In layman's terms, when you put on a corrupted mod, you get a boost to a specific attribute and a penalty to a secondary attribute. However, the stat boost that you get is significantly higher with Corrupted mods, which makes them a great choice for specific builds and play styles.

The Narrow Minded mod boosts the Ability Duration of your Warframe while reducing the Ability Range. So, Frames that have abilities with an Overtime effect are usually great for this mod.

The mod can be upgraded to rank 10, and at max rank, it gives you 99% extra duration on your abilities. However, the range of your abilities is reduced by 66%, which is quite significant.

The base cost to equip this mode is six, but that increases by one each time you upgrade the mod. At max level, you need to give up 16 mod capacity to equip it which is a pretty significant investment.

How to Farm Narrow Minded Mod in Warframe?

As we said earlier, you need to clear Orokin Vault missions in Warframe to get your hands on corrupted mods such as Narrow Minded. These Vaults are found on Deimos System missions. You need a specific Dragon Key to open the door to these Vaults.

There are two steps to farming Narrow Minded mod in Warframe:

Obtaining the Dragon Keys

To obtain the Dragon Key you need to complete the research for Dragon Key Blueprints from your Clan Dojo’s Orokin Lab. So, if you’re not part of a Clan yet, make sure you join up. You can’t farm corrupted mods without a Clan.

Once you’re in a Clan, head to the Dojo’s Orokin Lab and complete the research for Dragon Key Blueprints. Head back to your ship and go to the Foundry. In the Key tab of your Foundry, you’ll see four Dragon Keys that you can make:

  • Extinguished Dragon Key
  • Bleeding Dragon Key
  • Hobbled Dragon Key
  • Decaying Dragon Key

Make all four of these keys (they cost very few resources and only take a couple of minutes) and equip them in your Warframe’s Gear slot. You’ll notice that when you equip the keys, your Warframe gets heavier, moves slower, and also has less HP and Energy. Don’t worry; that’s normal. You need to complete the missions with these disadvantages.

Then, head to the Deimos system and choose any mission that you want to complete.

Deimos missions are pretty tough, though, so it’s great to have a couple of your friends join you on your expedition. Since Warframe is cross-platform now, you should be able to find plenty of Tenno to help you out.

Besides, since only one key is consumed for each Vault you open, having friends helping you out can make the grind more resource-efficient.

Looting the Vault

There are a lot of different missions that are available in the Deimos System. And you can pick any of them that you want. We recommend going with Horend which is a Capture mission. It’s easy and doesn’t take a lot of time or effort to complete.

When you get to the mission, you first want to finish the main objective. But before you head to the extraction, you want to search the map looking for the Vault.

Once you find the vault, approach the door. You should get a prompt to open the door using one of your four Dragon Keys. Open the door and pick up the Artifact that’s inside the room.

After that you just spring to extraction and finish the mission as you would. When the post-game reward screen comes up, you’ll see the list of items including the mod that you picked up from inside the Orokin Derelict Vault.

Remember, simply opening an Orokin Vault this way doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the Narrow Minded mod. Warframe is a game of grind, and the drop rate for Narrow Minded is pretty low at only around 5%.

So you need to repeat this mission multiple times if you want this mod to drop for you. Unlike Auger mods farming where you can see the reward beforehand, you only get to see Narrow Minded drop once you finish the mission.

You could of course do other missions if this one gets too boring for you. However, since this is a Capture mission, it gives you plenty of time to hunt for the Vault Entrance once you finish your main objective. That’s why we recommend sticking to this one.

Rinse and Repeat

Wame is a grind game at its core, and when you’re looking for a specific mod to finish your build, you need to repeat the same mission many times. Farming the Narrow Minded mod takes a white, but if you’re using a high-tier Warframe that can take out mobs like no tomorrow, then you shouldn’t have too much of a hard time.

Hopefully, our in-depth guide on how to farm this mod will help make the grind just a bit easier. Good luck!
