Fortnite x Naruto Arrives November 16 And The Hype Is Real

Naruto will officially join Fortnite on November 16, and it’s quickly becoming the most anticipated crossover in the game’s history.

Fortnite Battle Royale has become synonymous with bringing characters from different universes into the game. However, only a few of the countless intriguing collaborations from the last four years could match the hype of Naruto’s arrival. Since May of this year, everything from court case documents to reputable leaks has pointed toward this inevitable crossover. Before Season 9, all of those rumors became a reality.

Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer — Donald Mustard — confirmed that Naruto would enter Fortnite at some point in Season 8. While he noted it would not be a Battle Pass crossover, fans were excited both inside and outside the Fortnite scene. The game is now deep into Chapter 2 – Season 8, and a recent tweet from Fortnite’s official Twitter account revealed a date for the collaboration.

That tweet has since shattered almost every social media record in Fortnite’s illustrious history. It would be an understatement to say Naruto’s presence in Battle Royale mode has people enamored.

Fortnite x Naruto Coming November 16

November 10 promptly at 5 PM ET marked the moment Naruto and Fortnite fans have been anticipating. Epic Games officially announced November 16 as the day Naruto would enter the world of Fortnite. Less than 24 hours have passed since then, and the tweet has broken almost every record over the last two years. The announcement tweet has garnered more than 200K favorites and 50K retweets. Those statistics put it behind only the BTS collaboration from September 2020 that generated more than 500K favorites and over 100K retweets from the South Korean boyband’s verified Twitter account.

The Most Anticipated Crossover in Fortnite History?

The Naruto collaboration could drive interest back to Fortnite and will undoubtedly generate millions in revenue. ShiinaBR — a reputable leaker in the scene — points out that the Naruto tweet is the second-most liked in the game’s four-year history. It sits behind only the Fortnite x Avengers: Infinity War crossover from 2018, which received over 250K favorites.

The Fortnite x Naruto partnership works effectively on two levels; anime is more popular now than ever, and many recognize Naruto as one of the best of all time. The anticipation behind the Naruto collaboration is real, and it could become the most profitable in history. Marvel Comics and Star Wars sit respectively atop that list. We may never know how much revenue the Naruto collaboration generates, but it’s already climbing the ranks and the payoff arrives November 16.
