Fortnite: TrainHard Esport Disbands — Saf & Others Become Free Agents

A reputable French esports organization has announced that it will disband.

Sad news occurred in the esports scene today as the French organization TrainHard Esport announced it would immediately cease all operations. TrainH remained a force in games such as Rainbow 6, Call of Duty and Rocket League. The organization also held a strong presence in competitive Fortnite Battle Royale, with over 20 players on their roster since 2018. Unfortunately, the news today means several top competitors, including Fortnite legend Rocco “Saf” Morales, are now free agents to explore other options.

The organization’s Twitter account presented the sad news to nearly 50K followers. The statement reads as follows:

“It’s painful but we have to announce that TrainHard is closing its doors today. After many years in esports and unforgettable moments, it’s time for us to let go mostly because of economical reasons. Before we leave, we would like to thank everyone that helped us build TrainH with their own skills. Staff, players and you, our true fans. Thank you for everything and good luck in this world, which is beautiful and rough at the same time.”

It’s always difficult to watch a promising esports brand succumb to financial constraints. A similar situation occurred with COOLER Esports, which shut down its operations in April. The fallout usually includes uncertainty from the players who enter the free-agent market.

Influx of Free Agents in Fortnite

TrainH’s many rosters are now up in the air, including many of Fortnite’s elite talents such as Falconly, Matsoe, Umplify and Skite from its European division. Multiple-time Fortnite champion Saf will join free agency after becoming TrainH’s first North American talent in March. His career speaks for itself; ESL Katowice Royale winner, fourth at the Fortnite World Cup and FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 2 winner. He and TrainH’s many talented players will now enter the unpredictable market that is Fortnite’s free agency.

Hopefully, all players will find a new home and continue their quests to be one of the world’s best players.
