Who claimed the DreamHack Duos NA West victory for December?
DreamHack’s run of December Fortnite tournaments continued with the second of three regions. Week number two put the spotlight on NA West for the last two days as teams competed for a share of $250K USD. Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5’s meta is still developing, and players are figuring out optimal strategies in terms of their loadout, landing spot, and rotational methods. Six games stood between 50 finalists and a DreamHack Duo Championship. 100T Arkhram & XTRA Reet, Furious & Bizzle and OP Acorn & G2 Jahq reached the finals, but only one team would ultimately earn the pride of a marquee Fortnite tournament win.

Despite a stacked lineup in the Grand Finals, Aiden Eh 30 and X Cooper managed to capture their first tournament victory. The two players controlled Catty Corner, winning several spawn fights to put themselves in a favorable position. Aiden and Cooper’s ten-elimination Victory Royale in game five made the dream much more real. The NA West duo managed a ninth-place finish with six eliminations to close out game six, putting them at 323 points. No one expected it, but Aiden and Cooper maintained first place and each player walked away with $3.25K.

Aiden and Cooper’s Cinderella story made for an entertaining Grand Finals, considering their underdog status beforehand. It was even better when recognizing the plethora of top players that were not far behind. TRNL Criizux and Centric Jelty finished with 304 points. This duo played extremely consistent, but their lack of a Victory Royale penalized them. The always-entertaining NA West team of 100T Arkhram and XTRA Reet managed 295 points, securing them a third-place finish.

Other teams inside the top ten included CLG Jay & maken, Furious & FaZe Bizzle, Ajerss & Degen, CLG Symetrical & XTRA verT and 100T Ceice & Bizzle. These names lurking on the leaderboard made Cooper and Aiden’s victory much sweeter. It provides validation in a scene that is so often unforgiving.
