Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 delayed again until June 11th.
Fortnite fans will have to wait an additional week for its new season after yet another delay. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 has been in talks for quite some time. Although no one is sure of what the new season will bring, the general player base is ready to move onto whatever is next. At first, season three’s release date was April 30. Likely because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Epic Games pushed Chapter 2 Season 3’s release date back to June 4. It seems that it is no longer the case after an announcement earlier today that the new season will now debut on June 11.

The Fortnite Team released a blog post this afternoon, stating the delay of Fortnite’s newest season.
“In an effort to get everything ready for Chapter 2 – Season 3, we’re extending Season 2 by one week. The new launch day of Season 3 will be Thursday, June 11. Also make sure to check out a one-time-only live event called The Device, now scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET (please show up 30 minutes early to help secure your spot, space is limited!).”
Fortnite’s in-game countdown clock leading up to “The Device” live event continues to tick despite this news. The event, originally scheduled to take place on June 1st, will now happen on Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET. Some theories have surfaced revolving around what the event will entail, but nothing concrete at this point.

Yet Another Delay on a Longer Season
The Fortnite fanbase certainly is no stranger to waiting. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 lasted nearly four months from October 2019 to February 2020. Season 2 followed suit despite the originally intended end date of April 30. We can safely assume that the current ongoing COVID-19 pandemic can take the blame for the constant delays. Players are eager to see what Epic Games has prepared for another live event.
Let’s hope that Fortnite will produce another stunning live event, similar to that of the Travis Scott Astronomical Concert and The End. The anticipation continues to build as Epic Games undoubtedly has a bag of tricks ready to unleash for Chapter 2 Season 3.
