Learn everything there is to know about the FFXIV x FFXVI Collaboration Event.
The long-awaited collaboration event between FFXIV and FFXVI is finally here (almost). After nailbiting negotiations between XIV director and producer Naoki Yoshida and XVI producer Naoki Yoshida, the two gaming heavyweights have finally come to an agreement.
So here is everything you need to know about the upcoming collaboration event.
FFXIV x FFXVI Collaboration Event
While there isn't an exact date yet when the highly anticipated collaboration event will drop, we do know that it will be released within the 6.5x patch cycle. Patch 6.51 is expected to be released on October 31, 2023.
The patch will see Final Fantasy XVI protagonist Clive Rosfield visit Eorzea for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with the Warrior of Light. This adventure will not spoil anything from the new Final Fantasy which was released earlier this year but will include some references and a boss fight.
From the trailer material, we can see that the Warrior of Light and Clive Rosfield will face off against Ifrit in what seems to be a solo duty. It will probably combine mechanics from both FFXIV and FFXVI.
As it is the norm with these events, they'll be time-limited and will potentially never return. Here players have the chance to earn Clive Rosfields outfit, a Torgal mount, a Torgal minion and Orchestrion rolls with tracks from XVI.
This isn't the first time XIV has held a collaboration event with other games from the series. Back in A Realm Reborn players could earn glamour and weapons themed after Final Fantasy XIII and back in Stormblood there was a collaboration event with Final Fantasy XV where players went on an adventure with protagonist Noctis.
And we can't forget the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel event which paid tribute to the other MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. The upcoming expansion Dawntrail will also include an Alliance Raid themed after the MMO classic.
