Breakout, Season 20 of Apex Legends seems to be a game-changing season for Apex. The game is getting a full overhaul, introducing new mechanics that were not present previously. With the introduction of Perks and the new EVO system, fans were eagerly waiting for the gameplay trailer to see how it all plays out.

Fans were right to expect greatness as the trailer delivered on the hype and showed off every new mechanic coming to the game. We will be looking into all the details we are happy to see coming.

There are multiple things the trailer showed off. Here are the main things we are hyped to see coming.

New Mixtape Map

The new mixtape map Thunderdome was shown off in all its glory.

The interactive audience cheered for our Legends as Rampart described how the game is changing. Thunderdome seems to be a map with excruciating detail, with multiple areas on the map to take fights to. The map looks like the new and improved firing range but with a bright coat of paint. Thunderdome has multiple buildings, tanks, and airships where battles can be taken.

We are theorizing the addition of this map signifies a new mixtape mode coming into the game. Most mixtape maps are smaller in size, allowing for quick games. This map, however, has a lot to do with hinting at a new game mode on its way.

Perk System

The Legend upgrades were shown off in this trailer. Legends will have a choice between two perks at each EVO level-up. Mad Maggie’s fireball ultimate was shown in the game, and it seems to be a much needed addition to her kit. Lifeline’s self revive was also shown off in this trailer. Additionally, the Legends are getting new voice lines to signify when they level up.

The Breakout Rewards 

The Season will drop with multiple free items. The gameplay trailer showed off the Legendary Wraith skin and the Reactive Flatline skin in the trailer. Both the skins are some of the best Apex has to offer and are being given away for free. Additionally, new players can unlock six Legends through completing challenges and do not have to spend a single penny to acquire them.

Next Gen Upgrades

The trailer showed off the new 120 frames per second mode coming to the game. The update will also include audio updates and adaptive triggers for the PlayStation 5.

New LTM

The new LTM that is dropping with the launch was also shown off. The game will launch during Apex’s anniversary, and with that, the anniversary event is adding Straight Shot as a Limited Time Event (LTM). The LTM will feature faster games with a fast closing ring and a smaller play area. Players will spawn at a particular point of interest and will be surrounded by fully equipped weapons all around them.

The event will also give 150 heirloom shards upon completing it, allowing players to unlock any Heirloom of their choice.

New Cosmetics

Apex is dropping a new battle pass with multiple new cosmetics. All of them look amazing and ready for the battlefield. A skin we are looking forward to is Pathfinder’s neon blue skin. His chest monitor seems to have a 90s cartoon aesthetic, and we cannot wait to see it play out in-game.
