Epic Games Stands Behind Decision to Ban FaZe Jarvis

Epic Games isn't backing down on their harsh punishment of FaZe Jarvis.

Popular YouTube personality, Jarvis “FaZe Jarvis” Khattri, recently received a lifetime ban from Fortnite for cheating. In a video posted earlier this week, Jarvis showcased an aimbot in a public match of Fortnite. He relentlessly eliminated opposing players in the lobby with a game-breaking hack. In response to this video, Fortnite developer, Epic Games, issued a lifetime ban to the young 17-year-old YouTuber.

After an apology video by Khattri went viral, Epic Games has re-upped on their lifetime ban of the FaZe Clan member. According to a statement by an Epic Games spokesman issued to The Irish Sun,

“We have a zero-tolerance policy for the usage of cheat software. When people use aimbots or other cheat technologies to gain an unfair advantage, they ruin games for people who are playing fairly.”

Whether Khattri made a mistake or not, it appears that Epic Games is making an example of the YouTube personality.

Similar Situations

Epic Games have made no indication that they will reverse the ban or even listen to an appeal regarding the ban. Their zero-tolerance policy is essentially a dagger to the ultra-popular FaZe content creator. We’ve seen lighter bans inflicted upon professional players XXiF and Ronaldo. These two players endured accusations of cheating during the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers. They received a 14-day ban for their actions, which is light compared to Khattri’s situation. XXiF and Ronaldo took their suspension and still managed to qualify for the World Cup

The Ban Remains

Despite the outpouring of support by popular gaming personalities, Khattri will no longer be able to play Fortnite: Battle Royale within the public eye. It is possible that the British YouTuber could create a separate account, but the likelihood of all known accounts attached to Khattri receiving a ban is high. With over 2 million subscribers on YouTube, Khattri will need to figure out his options for content moving forward. Nearly the entire FaZe fan base stands in support of the mistake made by Khattri, but it will not be enough to sway Epic Games’ ultimate decision.
