A look at the Dragonflight 10.1.7 DPS Tier List as we continue our adventures in Dragonflight patch 10.1.7.
Patch 10.0 threw a major spanner in the works of every class in WoW. With changes to every single class via new talent trees, it certainly caused some volatility. 10.1.7 will likely see things staying the same for the initial stages of 10.1.7, with a number of buffs and changes to a number of classes.
Note: This tier list is based on data from raider.io and Warcraft Logs. Also, note that you should play whatever spec you want in WoW, and tier lists are completely pointless.
Check out our Tank and Healer Tier lists.

10.1.7 DPS Tier List A closer look
The below information was posted before Dragonflight 10.1.7 came out. This information will be updated post-10.1.7 release if required and will be stated in the text.
Augmentation Evoker
Yeah, well this spec came out a little over-cooked. Look, we all knew Blizzard dropping a spec mid-season was going to be a risk, but this is why. Augmentation Evoker is broken, at least as it stands. The spec needs some cleaning up, and some limitations placed on it and we'll be good.
Devastation Evoker
Devastation is likely to have a really solid start in 10.1.7. PTR logs look good, and with the specs easy rotation and high mobility, it should put the Devastation Evoker in a strong spot going into the patch. It might drop off later in the patch, but if it can avoid a nerf hit early, it should be fine.
Beast Mastery Hunter:
BM struggled to keep up with the DPS pace in 10.1, and that will likely continue in 10.1.7, despite some small buffs. The raid tending not to favour the BM kit, with only really the final two bosses offering up any real challenge to ranged DPS movement. That said, the specs ease of access will keep it performing long into the patch.
Arcane Mage
Arcane “might” be a strong spec in 10.1. The problem will come from the high mobility requirement of the raid tier and Arcane's lust for staying as a DPS turret. Time will tell, but Mage has finally got some love late in the PTR cycle, so maybe it has a chance.
Havoc Demon Hunter
Havoc will remain a strong DPS spec in 10.1. While the tier set is a little bit “so-so”, the spec looks like it's going to do a lot of damage.
Survival Hunter
10.1 has been rough on tSurvival Hunter, and it doesn't look like Blizzard has much interest in that changing. Maybe 10.2 will bring some new found clarity to the spec.
Retribution Paladin
Retribution got a rework in 10.0.7, but it has taken till 10.1 for the spec to shine, spending most of the tier as a top DPS. As we enter 10.1.7, the spec has pretty much settled as an A-Tier pick. If you want to give Retribution Paladin a go, now is the perfect time.
Enhancement Shaman
10.1 has been good to Enhancement Shaman. With a tier that focused on raid boss damage, and fewer adds, the spec has been able to flourish.
