Dota 2 Slardar Guide – Chase Opponents for Bonus Gold in 7.32E

You can chase your opponents across the map in Dota 2 matches for kills to earn bonus gold in 7.32E with Slardar.

There are only a few heroes in Dota 2 who can chase their enemies to their death like Slardar does in his matches. Many people have been choosing Slardar in their games for his ability to move swiftly throughout the map and stun enemy heroes in an instant. Slardar is a hardcore carry hero with impressive attributes that can be used to dominate your foes in battles.

Take a look at the most effective strategies you can use with Slardar to hunt enemy heroes in the 7.32E update for Dota 2.

Slardar – Level Up Slithereen Crush Early

Slardar smashes enemies using Slithereen Crush

Slardar can slam the ground with his weapon using Slithereen Crush to create a small puddle of water around him. Any enemy unit roaming near Slardar in a radius of 350 will be stunned for a second and have its movement speed slowed by 35% for 6 seconds. Slithereen Crush also decreases the attack speed of enemy units affected by the spell, making it harder for carry heroes in the enemy team to attack Slardar after being stunned.

Most players level up Slithereen Crush early to stun multiple enemies. Slithereen Crush has a cooldown of 8 seconds and consumes 100 mana to be used per cast. You can increase the stun duration of Slithereen Crush by 0.2 seconds at level 10 through the Talent Tree. Players can also increase the damage dealt by Slithereen Crush at level 20. The Talent Tree can be accessed at level 25 to reduce the cooldown of Slithereen Crush by 4 seconds, allowing Slardar to stun his opponents frequently in battles.

You can purchase an Aghanim’s Shard for Slardar to upgrade his ability, Slithereen Guard. Players can buy an Aghanim’s Shard for 1400 gold in the game. Slardar can stun enemy heroes in a wider radius by purchasing an Aghanim’s Shard in Dota 2 matches. It will also apply his ulti, Corrosive Haze, for a limited amount of time after upgrading Slithereen Guard for Slardar.

Slardar – Chase Enemies Easily Across Rivers

Slardar uses Guardian Sprint to chase his opponents

The Strength hero has a base movement speed of 300. You can buy a Boots of Speed after spawning into the game to increase the movement speed of Slardar by 45. He can chase his enemies throughout the map by activating Guardian Sprint during team fights. Slardar gains a bonus movement speed of 40% for 10 seconds by using Guardian Sprint.

You can reduce the cooldown of Guardian Sprint by 3 seconds at level 10. Most esports players prefer to buy an Aghanim’s Scepter to upgrade Guardian Spirit for Slardar. An Aghanim’s Scepter grants up to 8 bonus health regeneration rate and 4 bonus armor in the river or while standing in a puddle of water. Slardar also gains 40% status resistance against enemy attacks and a bonus movement speed of 18% by equipping an Aghanim’s Scepter in his inventory.

You can purchase a Phase Boots for Slardar to be able to prevent enemy heroes from escaping battles in Dota 2 matches. Phase Boots costs 1500 gold in the game. Slardar gains 45 movement speed, 18 attack damage, and 4 armor after buying a Phase Boots for the Strength hero. You can activate Phase Boots to gain up to 20% movement speed for 3 seconds using the item to get closer to your enemies while engaging them in team fights with Slardar.

Slardar – Buy Echo Sabre to Bash Enemies

Slardar hits enemies faster with Echo Sabre

He has a base attack damage of 51 – 59, letting Slardar take more last hits in a lane. Players can buy a Quelling Blade for Slardar to gain bonus attack damage against enemy creeps while farming for gold. The increased base armor of Slardar allows the melee hero to take more damage from enemy heroes in lanes per hit.

Items like Echo Sabre can prove to be instrumental against enemy heroes while playing Slardar. The melee hero gains 15 attack damage, 13 Strength, 10 attack speed, 10 Intelligence, and 1.75 mana regeneration after buying an Echo Sabre. Slardar can hit his opponents twice in a row using Echo Sabre to slow the movement speed of his enemies by 100% for 0.8 seconds through the passive ability, Echo Strike. The item has a cooldown of 6 seconds on Echo Strike, letting Slardar deal bonus damage with his physical attacks.

You can max out the passive ability, Bash of the Deep, to stun enemy heroes with Slardar. Bash of the Deep lets Slardar bash enemy units once every 4 attacks from his weapon. Enemy units bashed by Slardar take up to 200 bonus damage and are stunned for 1.3 seconds. Echo Sabre can drastically increase the damage dealt by Slardar to his opponents in battles. People can use Slithereen Guard after bashing enemies with Bash of the Deep to extend the duration of the stun.

Slardar – Track Your Opponents During Battles

Slardar uses Corrosive Haze on Windranger

Players can cast Slardar’s ulti, Corrosive Haze, on enemy heroes to reduce their armor by 20 for up to 18 seconds. The latest 7.32E update has increased the cast range of Corrosive Haze to a constant 900 at each level for Slardar. Corrosive Haze reveals invisible heroes, making it easier to track enemy heroes during battles with the melee hero.

You can counter enemy heroes like Riki and Windranger with Slardar by casting Corrosive Haze to track their movements. Enemy units affected by Corrosive Haze leave a trail of water behind as they walk across the map. Corrosive Haze has a cooldown of 5 seconds and needs 25 mana to be used per cast. Players can prevent enemy heroes from dispelling Corrosive Haze through the Talent Tree by reaching level 25.

Slardar can buy a Mjollnir to gain an additional 70 attack speed and 24 attack damage from the item. Physical attacks from Slardar have a 30% chance to release an electric current that deals 180 damage to 12 enemy units at a time by purchasing a Mjollnir in battles. Slardar can cast Static Charge on himself and his allies using Mjollnir to gain a 20% chance to produce a bolt of lightning that deals 225 magical damage to 5 enemy units in a radius of 900 around the Strength hero. Static Charge can last for up to 15 seconds and requires 50 mana to be used.

You can upgrade a Blink Dagger to an Overwhelming Blink for Slardar to gain an additional 25 Strength. Slardar will deal a portion of his Strength attributes as bonus damage around the blinked location by using Overwhelming Blink. The item has a cooldown of 15 seconds.

He can hold up to a maximum of 25 souls using the passive ability, Necromastery.

Nevermore can reduce the armor of enemy units by 7 in a radius of 1200 around him by leveling up Presence of the Dark Lord. Slardar can cast his ulti, Corrosive Haze, to further weaken enemy heroes in battles. Allies can purchase a Silver Edge for Shadow Fiend to walk into team fights and unleash massive amounts of damage on them to destroy enemy heroes with Slardar in his team.

He can release the souls collected throughout the game by casting Shadow Fiend’s ulti, Requiem of Souls, to mitigate his opponents. Enemy units affected by Requiem of Souls take up to 160 damage per soul and will be inflicted by Fear for up to 2.7 seconds, causing opponents to run to their fountain between battles against Shadow Fiend.
