Overwatch: Boston Uprising Sign Flex Tank Brussen

One day after signing damage player Sang-Beom “Munchkin” Byun, Boston Uprising announces flex tank Thomas “brussen” Brussen.

Boston Uprising did some major changes during this off-season. After releasing seven players, Boston recreates its roster with the addition of flex tank brussen one day after signing Munchkin. As a flex tank, brussen specialized in D.Va, Roadhog and Sigma.

Brussen recently played in the Overwatch World Cup as the flex tank for Team Netherlands. They made it to the quarterfinals, losing 1-3 to Team France. His performance caught the eye of Boston’s management, including Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for the Uprising.

“brussen had a standout performance in the recent World Cup,” said Loranger. “We think he will synergize well with the rest of his teammates, and we’re glad to welcome him here to Boston.”

The Dutch player has experience in Overwatch Contenders, but this is the first time a player from the Netherlands join the Overwatch League. brussen began in Overwatch Contenders with One.PoinT, ending his first season at the third place of the 2018 championship. He then reached the quarterfinals in the region’s Contenders 2018 Season 2. For the Overwatch Contenders 2018 Season 3, brussen joined Bazooka Puppiez, and signed with Young and Beautiful for Contenders 2019 Season 2 before moving to Angry Titans.

The 2020 season of the Overwatch League is key for Boston Uprising. The team had a rough season last year, and hopes are high for the fans who will see the two homestand weekends on April 25-26 and June 27-28.
