In Super Mario RPG, in addition to having the opportunity to take part in the missions that make up the main story, you can also have fun completing secondary activities. These Super Mario RPG side quests are different from each other and each of the missions you can complete will allow you to complete different objectives, also putting your skills to the test. If you are curious to find out which Super Mario RPG side quests you can complete in the game, this is the right place for you.
All Super Mario RPG side quests
As we have already mentioned, in order to complete these Super Mario RPG side quests, you will have to rely on your skills, since some will be more difficult than others to complete. Below, therefore, is the complete list of all the Super Mario RPG side quests present in the game.
Play all Toadofsky songs
This side quest can be completed in the Melody Bay area. To do this, all you have to do is jump on tadpoles to play three different songs for Toadofsky. This is definitely not a very simple mission, so be prepared to have to try it several times before you succeed. However, once you have succeeded, you will have the opportunity to expand the inventory of Tadpole Pond's Juice Bar and buy items at a discounted price.
Unlock secret boss Culex
This is certainly the most difficult of the Super Mario RPG side quests to complete, not so much for unlocking the secret boss itself (although we must admit that the solution is not very intuitive), but for the battle that awaits you after. In this guide, we have explained in detail all the steps to follow to complete this secondary mission. In summary, you will have to buy some fireworks that you can exchange for a shiny stone that will allow you to open the door in question.
Complete Jinx's challenge
Even this side quest is not immediate in its resolution, since you will have to face a boss fight against Jagger, a former member of Bowser's Koopa Troop. Once Jagger is defeated, you will have to face Jinx three times, with the difficulty of the battles becoming increasingly greater. As soon as you manage to defeat Jinx, you will receive the Jinx Belt as a reward for your hard work, which will allow you to not die instantly.
Collect the Lazy Shells
To complete this mission, you will have to bring seed and fertilizer to the Toad in Rose Town. To find the seed, all you have to do is defeat Megasmilax and it will be released by the Beezo, who will run away. As for fertilizer, it can be acquired after defeating Valentina from the Beezo, which is located in the northernmost part of the city of Nimbus Land. Bring the two items to the previous Toad to grow the vine and climb it to get the Lazy Shells.
Find the 3 Musty Fears Flags
To activate this mission, you will have to sleep inside a house located in Monstro Town. Once this is done, the 3 Musty Fears will visit Mario and suggest he play a game, which will start the mission. Once you have collected the flags, go to Monstro Town again and sleep in the same house to complete another of the Super Mario RPG side quests and receive the Ghost Medal as a reward.
Go inside Crate Guy's Casino and win Look the Other Way 100 times
First of all, to start this Super Mario RPG side quest, you will need to have access to the casino by obtaining the Bright Card from the Knife Guy's Minigame. Once this is done, you can access the secret passage in Bean Valley by eliminating a Piranha plant. Continue until you encounter a Chomp Chomp, defeat it, and, on the side where the enemy was, jump three times to reveal an invisible platform. Once inside, focus on the Look the Other Way minigame to beat it 100 times and complete this mission.
Deliver the Cricket Jam to Frog Sage
This is one of the simplest and fastest Super Mario RPG side quests to complete. All you have to do is find the Cricket Jam, which is found in a chest in Kero Sewers, to be precise, in an area that can only be reached through a wrap pipe. Once found, return to Frog Sage to give him the item and receive 10 Frog Coins as a reward.
Play Beetle Mania
This mission will only be available after you save Peach from Booster. Accordingly, the first thing to do is to progress through the game up to this point. Once this is done, talk to Beetle Mania Toad in the inn located in Mushroom Kingdom and purchase the minigame for 500 coins. The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible; however, you will not receive any kind of reward.
Promote the Apprentice Snifsters
The Apprentice Snifters are characters that you can find in the Booster Pass area and are those who have the desire to serve Booster. Consequently, enter the Booster Tower and press the green switch that you will find as you go up. Once this is done, return to Booster Pass to gain access to the place where the Snifsters train.
In order to finish this mission, you will have to make sure that your characters lose against them. Since these are very weak enemies, our advice is to ensure that when you approach them, your characters already have low health in order to speed up everything. At this point, fight against the Apprentice and make sure you lose. Repeat this process five times and you will complete this mission (although you will not receive any rewards).
