HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero is their next big title. Learn everything there is to know about the new game by the creators of Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, and Honkai Impact 3rd.
Since blasting onto the scene with the release of Genshin Impact, there is no stopping MiHoYo and their ever-expanding catalog of titles. After the massive success of Genshin Impact and recently Honkai Star Rail their next project seems to be ready to go as well.
Zenless Zone Zero is not set in the wide cosm of the Honkai-verse but instead seems to be a spiritual successor to their breakout title Honkai Impact 3rd. With a release date currently set within the next year or so, we'll give you a quick rundown of everything you need to know.

What is Zenless Zone Zero?
Zenless Zone Zero or ZZZ for short is an Urban Fantasy Action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic metropolis called Eridu. The player takes on the role of a Proxy who helps others explore alternate dimensions called Hollows.
In between action-packed missions, you recruit new allies, explore the city, and just hang out. Oh, and there is also that whole Persona-esque life simulator thing going on that we sadly haven't seen enough of. But if you're familiar with MiHoYo's output then you know it will be nothing but stellar.
Zenless Zone Zero Release Date
Sadly there is no Release Date for ZZZ yet, but the game is expected to be released on Android, iOS, and Windows platforms. The current release window is somewhere between 2024 and 2025. And if MiHoYo's usual way of doing things is anything to go by, there will be a beta period and maybe even a PlayStation version in the near future.
Is Zenless Zone Zero Free to Play?
Just like the rest of MiHoYo's titles, ZZZ will be free to play on iOS, Android, and Windows. You'll be able to experience all of the game without any additional cost, but there will be some sort of monetization similar to Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
That means a premium currency, a season pass, and access to additional upgrade materials for all your characters. All of that will still be available for a free to play users just at a more gradual pace.
Zenless Zone Zero Gameplay
On the Gameplay front, Zenless Zone Zero looks like a remake of Honkai Impact 3rd and other attempts MiHoYo had made in Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail to shake up their usual gameplay loops. Just that ZZZ seems to dial up the visuals quite a bit.
If you're not familiar with Honkai Impact 3rd (go play it, it is an amazing mobile game with almost a decade's worth of stories to tell) it's an action game in the vein of Platinum or Capcom. In ZZZ you'll be able to team up with up to 4 companions and pummle your enemies in stylish combat.
We haven't seen a lot of what the combat has to offer, but once again with Impact 3rd MiHoYo has already proven what kind of spectacular combat they conjure up, even on a mobile screen. So expect to see some nasty-looking abilities, sick boss fights, and crazy visuals.
Just like other HoYoverse titles, Zenless Zone Zero will be operating under the Gacha system. This means you'll have to pull for characters who have different rarities and strengths. While these games are often accused of being pay-to-win, MiHoYo is usually pretty good at balancing the game around free-to-play players.
This only gets dicey once you want a specific character that might only be on a “Banner” once or simply hard to get otherwise.
Outside of combat, you'll explore the city of Eridu, get to meet its residents, and hang out. Here you can either get to know some of your team a little more, check out the Ramen store, or loiter about in the local arcade. But it's still a little early to say how expansive that mode will end up being.
Zenless Zone Zero Multiplayer
ZZZ will also feature Coop and Multiplayer in a similar vein to Genshin Impact. It looks like up to 4 players can team up at the same time, head into missions, and lay the smackdown on the Ethereal.
