Console players are well aware of ximming Overwatch and the problems it causes, but we are happy to report Blizzard finally addressed it.
Overwatch 2 is a game available on PC and Console. Both types of games offer a different experience, but both are amazing to play.
Console players have their own community, and many of them are really good, but using some heroes is much harder than using others because they need to use a controller. This is where Ximming Overwatch 2 comes into play because this is a special tool that allows people to use a keyboard and mouse on a console.
As you can probably guess, the Overwatch xim option is not something that console players like. Playing against such people is not fair because they are way more accurate and much harder to kill.
This has been a problem for many years because a lot of users used the Ximming Overwatch 2 option. Blizzard refused to take action, but it seems like those days are gone.

Ximming Overwatch 2 – Director’s Take
Just a couple of days after the arrival of Overwatch 2 Season 10, the devs behind our favorite game decided to address this problem.
Daniel Razza and Adam Massey have addressed the fact that console players have access to tools, such as aim assist so that they can have better precision. Despite that, people have been using the ximming Overwatch 2 tech and were able to plug in a keyboard and mouse
Ximming overwatch. This caused the team to come up with a way to detect these peripherals.
“Figuring out which players are using unapproved peripherals has been a challenge for us to overcome.” The team refused to go into detail about the Overwatch 2 xim detection technique, it became clear that Blizzard had data to work with. According to the article, most people who use these tools are among the Grand Master or Champion ranks, so the team’s actions will focus on it.
Removing these peripherals from Competitive Play
Since Blizzard’s team has data about ximming in Overwatch 2 on console, starting in Season 11, players will get in trouble when using it. Once the system detects someone using those things for the first time, the person won’t be able to use Competitive Play on the console for a week.
If, however, the specific player continues using this tech, he will be banned from the competitive season. On top of that, this player will only be matched with others using peripherals iun Quick Play for the entire season. Furthermore, these users won’t have access to the aim-assist feature.
Until season 11 is here, players who are “the most severe abusers of unapproved peripherals” will receive permanent account bans. Blizzard will target players who received reports from others.
What’s Next?
It is clear that Blizzard is not ready to issue a permanent ban to people who use a mouse and keyboard on the console yet. In fact, it became clear the team is trying to find a way to allow these people to play against other console players using the same tech. It will be very interesting to see what will happen in the future and whether people from the console competitive pool using a mouse and keyboard will be able to queue alongside their PC counterparts.
