Sons of the Forest is a survival game where you have to learn to hunt, build things, cook, and much more. For this reason, in this Sons of the Forest how to cook article, we will explain in detail everything you need to know about cooking. In fact, unlike other games of the same genre, eating raw foods will not kill you, but consuming them cooked is much better, as you will have the opportunity to take advantage of some very important benefits.
How to cook in Sons of the Forest
The first thing to know is, of course, that you will need a cooking pot to be able to cook food in Sons of the Forest. These very useful tools are found in abandoned camps and can be transported one at a time, so if you want more, you will necessarily have to leave them in your camps. In any case, once you have a cooking pot, you will have to fill it with water. To do this, just equip it and get close to some waterways to fill it.
Now that you have filled the cooking pot with water, the next step is to light a fire. Then, break two sticks and set them on fire using the emergency pack lighter. At this point, in reality, you will be able to cook the meat even using only fire, but using a cooking pot is still recommended for greater benefits. Then, place the cooking pot on the fire, click on the gear to see the list of recipes, choose one, and click on the gear again to place the lid on it.
One thing you absolutely must keep in mind is the fact that you can only create recipes if you have all the ingredients you need for that specific recipe. Consequently, the first thing to do is to make sure you have all the necessary ingredients. Once you have everything you need, you can proceed with cooking the food. But how do you get all the ingredients? Depends. Some of them, such as berries and mushrooms, can simply be collected; others, however, like meat, need to be hunted.
