Resident Evil Village Now Available on Select Apple Devices

Capcom has announced the release of Resident Evil Village, the 8th main installment of the Resident Evil franchise, for Apple devices.

(Minor spoilers ahead)

The second installment and conclusion of the Ethan Winters saga, Resident Evil Village, picks up several years after Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Someone Ethan trusted has killed Mia and kidnapped his daughter Rosemary.

Ethan then finds himself in a strange village surrounded by horrifying creatures. He'll have to traverse through this hostile territory if he hopes to save Rosemary. Along the way, he'll have to confront powerful beings like Lady Dimitrescu, the gigantic zombie lady the Internet loves, and Heisenberg, the zombie Magneto at home, not Walter White.

Available on Select Apple Devices

The iOS version of Resident Evil Village is available on iPhone 15 Pro and all iPads with the M1 chip or later. The game is free to download and try before deciding to purchase. The game is about 16GB in total. Touchscreen controls are, of course, available, but the game performs best using a controller. Mobile Ports Continue to Improve

Mobile ports of console titles have been around for more than a decade now, but their progress is notable. For years, these ports were primarily for games 10-20 years old, like the sixth generation GTA games, Chrono Trigger, and the Final Fantasy series. But Resident Evil Village came out just two and a half years ago.

Early testing confirms this port is a massive battery drain, but that's not surprising. Battery drain aside, this is an impressive port. It's already #2 on the Top iPhone Action Games Chart
