Pokémon TCG Scarlet & Violet Paradox Rift Reveal

The next Pokémon TCG Set “Scarlet & Violet Paradox Rift” will release in English on November 3rd.

The introduction of the new Ancient and Future Pokémon will put on twist on the current TCG generation.

Scarlet & Violet Paradox Rift

Scarlet & Violet Paradox Rift will be the TCG introduction to Paradox Pokémon which come from the past and future of the Pokémon world. This set will bring new ex and Tera Pokémon, as well as a new mechanic with Ancient and Future Pokémon card classifications. Given the standard start for Scarlet & Violet's competitive TCG scene, it's good to see that year two will be comprised of more features and mechanics.

Ancient & Future Pokémon

The new Ancient and Future mechanics releasing with this set will likely look similar to the Single Strike and Rapid Strike mechanics in Sword & Shield. There will be Trainer cards and even Energy cards that can only be used on either Ancient or future Pokémon. This means decks will not be comprised of both types of cards, but rather have one chosen that the player thinks will have the most benefits. Unlike Single Strike and Rapid strike, there are a limited number of Pokémon that can fit into the categories of Ancient and Future, meaning the only time new cards can release will be when new Pokémon are revealed in the video game DLC and events.
