Pokemon Sleep Explained – Everything You Need To Know

Heard of Pokemon Sleep and you want to know what all the fuss is about? Here is our Pokemon Sleep Explained, short and sweet.

Pokemon Sleep is taking the world by storm, employing such unethical practices as “going to bed on time” and rewarding “getting your life together” under the guise of being a Pokemon game. And if Pokemon GO could motivate people to go outside and group up in kid-friendly gang warfare then maybe this one will teach you how to take care of yourself.

Pokemon Sleep Explained

So what is Pokemon Sleep? It's an app you can download to your Android or Apple devices via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. It is somewhere in between a wellness app and a casual video game.

The gameplay is pretty simple, the game will record you while sleeping and match your sleep profile with Pokemon that have a similar style of sleep. Sleeping for a sufficient amount of time during the day, maybe even a nap for good measure will earn you points and experience for your Snorlax.

Snorlax? Snorlax! Everyone's favorite big girl/guy is your main focus throughout this endeavor. Sleep well, sleep tight, and keep Snorlax fed and happy to attract more Pokemon to add to your research team.

Your team will then help you take care of your Snorlax throughout the week, with the goal of getting its Snoozepower as high as possible. More Snoozepower will attract more Pokemon and on and on it goes.

And over time you can attract, train and even evolve many of your favorite digital critters and form a formidable team to beat every odds. All of that is by going to sleep at regular intervals, learning and tracking your habits, and maybe even improving them.

Amazing how Pokemon can motivate ut so go outside, make friends now even take care of ourselves. And if that fails, you'll at least get some enjoyment out of comparing your screwed-up results with your friends and the rest of the world.

How to Play Pokemon Sleep

Setting the game up is pretty easy and very straightforward. First, download the App for your chosen device. You find a link to the Android version here and a link to the iOS App Store version here. Now you only need to download the latest version, set up your profile and you're ready to go.

Just be warned that progression's gonna be very, very, very slow. You can only collect points for a maximum of 8,5 hours a day, and you can feed Snorlax every 6 to 12 hours.

It is a game that you can make part of your daily routine checking in every couple of hours to collect resources and occasionally managing your team of adorable critters.

Microtransactions

Like with every mobile game these days, Pokemon Sleep also features some Microtransactions as well as a Premium Pass. The Premium Pass, which will set you back 10$ USD/ 10€ EUR a month for extra rewards is a little steep.

This Premium Pass gives you access to both Sleep Point stores, the Regular Exchange and the Premium Exchange. Both have a monthly limit on the resources you can purchase there, while the Premium Exchange store has a greater offering of wares.

The Pokemon Sleep Premium Pass will also allow you to track missed Sleep Sessions for up to 30 hours. Giving your additional opportunity to earn sleep points, which in term will help you attract more Pokemon.

Then there are Diamonds, Pokemon Sleep's premium currency which can also be earned, if a little slowly, by just playing the game. Its value is rather steep, going up to almost 100$ USD/ 100€ EUR in value for barely anything of worth.

So unless you really plan to put the hours into Pokemon Sleep, you don't need to spend any money. The game is quite playable in free to-play, even if progress is much slower.
