Phasmophobia Medium Maps: The Ultimate Guide

Do you want to know how to properly navigate all medium maps in Phasmophobia? Then, take a look at our guide on the Phasmophobia medium maps

One of the most beloved, if not the most beloved game of its genre is Phasmophobia, a ghost-hunting game. It is a paranormal investigation survival horror game that is both solo and team-based. The game was developed by Kinetic Games, an indie video game company and released in September 2021. It quickly became the concurrent sixth most popular game on Twitch which is where it gained most recognition, thanks to streamers playing it in spirit for Halloween. As it is a ghost-hunting game, there are multiple different locations or maps of three different sizes that you need to go hunting on based on contracts. Hence, here is a guide on the Phasmophobia medium maps and how to properly navigate them.

The Ultimate Guide for Navigating Phasmophobia Medium Maps

As mentioned before, being a ghost-hunting game there are many different locations or maps available in the game to explore. At present, Phasmophobia has a total of 13 locations or maps that you can get available for ghost investigation contracts. The 13 maps are then divided into three types based on their size which are Small, Medium Large. There are only 2 medium maps available for playing in the game right now and you have to reach a certain level in-game to unlock the 2 maps. The 2 maps are called Prison and Maple Lodge Campsite. Hence, without further ado, here is everything you need to know about the Phasmophobia medium maps:

Prison

Prison is the first of the Phasmophobia medium maps that was ever introduced in the game. In order to unlock this map, you have to reach level 15 in the game. It is a dilapidated 2-storey building with unnervingly long hallways. The hallways are divided into parts with metal bars, which makes it even more eery-looking. It is a more open type of map which makes it harder to find hiding spots during a hunt as they are a good distance away.

The whole map consists of various rooms including visitation rooms, an infirmary and two big prison blocks dedicated to jail cells. The whole layout is very nauseating and can get confusing at times because of being eerily similar. There are also many congested catwalks which act as a great barrier when in the middle of a Ghost hunt. The light switches for many rooms are located in other separate which can oftentimes be very scary when a Ghost is manipulating the lights. There are only a total of two or three escape routes on the whole map which makes it very difficult to get out alive.

Maple Lodge Campsite is one of the newer Phasmophobia medium maps to be introduced in the game. In order to unlock this map, you have to reach level 19 in the game. It is a predominantly outdoorsy location or map, pretty self-explanatory from its name and it is also the first of its type. It is a very organic location for camping with various buildings and designated areas including a picnic area and a campfire.

The map is quite spacious with multiple tents in the central area divided into two campgrounds. There are a few housing tents along with a storage tent, food tent and games tent. Other rooms on the map include the reception building, a 2-storey cabin building next to a lake, a restroom building and the staff-only storage area. The most unique and infuriating thing about this map is the unpredictable weather which includes heavy rainfall and strong wind which limits the pace and extent of investigating.

Tips and Tricks

  • When hiding in the tents, the tent flaps do not break the line of sight with the Ghost unless fully closed.
  • Keep your ears open to hear the sound of the distinct sound of the entrance door being shut because it is the sign of a hunt beginning.
  • The Ghost can still see you if you hide on the Cabin’s balcony, so avoid that and opt for hiding indoors.
  • Lighting the campfires with a firelight or igniter increases the temperature of the area around it.
  • Fingerprints can commonly be found on small tents, tent door flaps, windows, picnic benches, log seating, base of lanterns and string light poles.
