Main support player Yeon-joon "ArK" Hong retires from competitive Overwatch.

As the Overwatch League is still off-season, teams continue to refine their rosters. Players also take the time to reflect on their career β€” and sometimes put an end to it. Today, this is the case of main support player Yeon-joon "ArK" Hong.

ArK is an emblematic figure of the Inaugural Season of the Overwatch League. He made his debuts on the main stage with the New York Excelsior, eventually winning the first-ever Regular Season of the Overwatch League.

After this successful first season in the League, ArK joined the Washington Justice. Things didn’t go as well with this new team, who struggled to find its balance. The Washington Justice finished the Regular Season at the penultimate place β€” 19th out of 20 teams.

However, the Washington Justice went on a streak during the North America Playoffs. The teams swiped both the Vancouver Titans and Dallas Fuel, eventually losing to the Grand Champions of San Francisco Shock in the Quarterfinals.

Today, ArK is putting a stop to his Overwatch professional career. Prior to joining the League, the player was studying in South Korea to become a nurse. However, his next plans might be geared toward esports. The player said that he lost his passion for Overwatch as a player, but may be back as a coach.
