Everyone wants to have a good game, to make sure you do, there are some things you should never do to your teammates in Overwatch 2.
Like every computer game where you have to play in a team, there are certain things you should avoid doing in Overwatch 2 if you want to be successful. Sadly, people often make mistakes when it comes down to their teammates, which can have a negative impact on their game. Unsurprisingly, most players want to do everything in their power to win, so it is time to take a look at a few things you should avoid doing.
Even though some people don’t care about those things while playing Overwatch 2, others won’t be happy about them. Consequently, you must be careful what you’re doing because every wrong move can be fatal. With that said, here are some of the things that you should not do to your Overwatch 2 teammates, even if you are bad at them.

Don’t force them to switch to a different hero before the start of the game
Whether you’ve chosen your role before queuing for a match or you’ve decided to use the Open Queue, you will have to play with 4 more Overwatch 2 teammates. Unsurprisingly, everyone has their favorite hero, which means that most people will use it when playing. Even though you may not agree with someone’s pick, it is not a good idea to try to force him to switch just because you don’t like it.
We’ve seen countless Overwatch 2 matches where one of the teams loses just because of the flame war that starts following the pick phase. For some reason, certain players do not like a specific hero, and when someone gets it, they start flaming him. Widowmaker is the best example here because low-rated Overwatch 2 players believe she is not worth picking.
Even if that’s the case, you should not flame your teammate for picking the hero. He might be really good with it and carry you because you never know what will happen until you see this person in action. Of course, you can always suggest switching if he doesn’t do much in fights.
Don't abuse your abilities to prevent them from playing
One of the most important things about Overwatch 2 that you need to remember is that this game is like Dota 2 and CSGO when it comes down to tilts. Some players can’t take criticism and will start running the game for others when that happens. Needless to say, you should do everything you can not to become one of them because this will prevent you from winning.
There are many things that you can do to ruin the fun for others, such as abusing a specific hero’s abilities. Even though there aren’t that many heroes that can do that, Mei, for example, can definitely disrupt your team’s gameplay. Thanks to the Ice Wall, you can troll your team and trap them inside a chokepoint.
Even though some of your team may find this funny, most Overwatch 2 players won’t be happy about it and can start running the game. As you can imagine, this won’t lead to any good because you will lose.
Stop complaining using the voice chat
If there is something that Overwatch players hate more than game ruiners, it has to be people who use voice chat for no reason. This has to be one of the most annoying things in the game because some people use chat to share their music and things like that. Even worse, certain Overwatch 2 players will only complain about something without realizing that this triggers everyone around them.
If you are frustrated and want to address something, stay calm and try explaining the situation. Flaming and screaming at your teammates in Overwatch 2 won’t lead to any good because they will either mute you or not do anything on purpose.
Another important thing to remember is to think carefully about whether you’re not the reason why the team is not winning. This is especially true if you’re a tank because the Overwatch 2 tanks have a crucial role in the game.
Don't force someone to play support just because you don’t want to
Let’s face it, the majority of Overwatch 2 players nowadays focus on DPS or Tank. The latter became incredibly popular lately because the heroes received tons of buffs. In fact, at the time of writing this, heroes like Roadhog are among the strongest in OW 2 and continue to dominate the meta.
Even though Tanks and DPS are strong, every team needs at least one support. In fact, most teams use 2 of them because they need someone to heal them and provide utilities, such as AS/MS and more.
If you're unwilling to pick support when your team needs it, don’t be that guy who will flame others for not choosing this role. Forcing someone to play support when he’s not good at it won’t end well for anyone. Most support heroes are hard to play and require people to have good positioning. Needless to say, those with no previous experience won’t do well.
Final Thoughts
As much as we hate to admit it, some people are incapable of getting to their desired Overwatch 2 rank because they can’t work as a team. Even though a good OW player can carry his teammates in the lower ranks, this isn’t the case in the higher ranks.
If you are one of the players in this category, try to focus on those things that will help you improve. Being a toxic teammate won’t get you anywhere, especially in team-based games such as Overwatch 2. The good news is that those problems are usually present among younger players, so the older you get, the better, at least in terms of communication with your team.
