Some discussion over Adam's Knight Garen was had as both teams were picking their draft. Knowing how strong and unpredictable the BDS top-laner can be has made him a total wildcard in certain matches. But after Elyoya locked in Bel'Veth, the rest of BDS went with a standard comp to play it safe. Can't meme much when you're already behind on the score.

Right off the bat, we saw Elyoya bait Sheo's Flash which forced him to return to fountain. This wasn't a good sign for BDS. If they allowed MAD's Jungler to scale up, he could control the rest of the map. On top of that, Carzzy's expertise on Xayah and Hylissang's smart roam led to their team getting a cheeky 2-0 lead.

Elyoya built Kraken Slayer just under 10 minutes, so all eyes were on nuc's team for a big play. They needed to get some gold back into their pockets, so they wnt on the hunt for an enemy to lock down while playing things relatively safe.

Consequently, there was little BDS could do with so little map priority. After a few skirmishes, the Swiss team did manage to claim their first kills. However, MAD always answered in kind to keep the killscore in their favor. With the infernal drake buff and more gold overall, the Lions of EU were in a comfortable spot when they entered the midgame.

Poor positioning and a lack of jungle control made for an endless banquet for MAD's jungler. Eventually, BDS was too scattered to even contest for Baron, which widened the gap even further. Despite Adam's team having better damage potential, MAD commanded a heavy lead. That said, things still weren't over for Adam's team.

After the 22 minute mark, MAD didn't see the need for any risky plays and settled on using Baron buff to slow push on every lane. With the Win Probability deep in the blue, things were looking good for the Spanish team.

With no vision over their own territory and behind on the score, BDS went on to full-on contest the second Baron and succeeded in stealing. Yet, due to the massive difference, MAD still flipped the script and made sure no one from Team BDS recalled to base with the buff on them.
