We open this guide by saying that the Lords of the Fallen Tancred and Reinhold boss fight is one of the most difficult ones you will have to witness in order to reach the end of the game. In fact, as you can well imagine from the title, it is a clash against two enemies. Since it will not be at all easy to move forward in this battle, in this article, we have decided to give you some advice to make your life a little easier.
How to beat Tancred and Reinhold in Lords of the Fallen
This boss fight, as has also happened in the past against other bosses, is divided into two distinct phases. However, since the two bosses are very different from each other and therefore you will have to adopt completely different strategies, it will seem like you have to fight two boss fights in one. Therefore, pay close attention to the advice we will give you in this article, so that you have more hope of overcoming this difficulty.
Phase 1
The first phase of the battle is certainly the simplest of the two, but obviously, it should not be underestimated because it is still quite difficult to complete. This is mainly due to the fact that Tranced Master of Castigations will be less aggressive than in the second phase, so this will make things slightly easier for you in this first phase of the fight.
One piece of advice we want to give you is to stay as close to Tranced as possible in this phase of the battle. This strategy, in fact, will allow you to avoid some of his attacks, especially the ranged ones, without even having to dodge them. However, you will not be completely safe and there will still be attacks that will manage to hit you. For this reason, always be alert and careful to dodge the blows and counterattack to inflict damage on him.
One of the attacks in Tranced's arsenal is a sort of magical wave which, although it may seem like a very dangerous attack, is actually not so, as it is quite simple to dodge. However, in case you are close enough to the boss, keep in mind that after making this attack, Tranced will not do another one, so be careful to dodge twice instead of once.
An attack you will have to pay particular attention to is his thrust attack, as it is able to stab you and inflict a high amount of damage. However, this attack is not difficult to avoid, so with a little attention, you will be able to do it without problems. Additionally, Tranced will need some time to recover after making this move, meaning this is a good time to attack it.
Ultimately, this is all you need to know regarding the first phase of the fight. So, as usual, be patient and don't dive in headlong, and try by all means to stay as close to the boss as possible, so as to avoid some of his attacks without the slightest effort. For the others, always be careful and try to dodge everything possible, so as not to suffer damage.
Phase 2
As soon as you have defeated Tranced, the second phase of the battle will begin. In this phase, the boss will transform into a large creature that will be very aggressive and powerful. Reinhold the Immured, this is the name of the boss in this second phase, is certainly more difficult to face than Tranced, also due to the fact that his attacks will be so powerful that they will be able to almost completely empty your health bar in a single shot.
Also in this case, the strategy we recommend you follow is to stay as close to the boss. It might seem strange and you might think that keeping away is the best choice to make but, in reality, this is not the case at all. Staying close to Reinhold will give you a chance to hit his legs and deal damage. However, be very careful about your positioning and always stay below or behind him. In all other cases, you will face certain death.
Another thing to pay particular attention to is the direction in which to dodge and the position in which to put yourself. In fact, the best strategy to use to avoid being hit is to always dodge blows in the direction of his belly or legs. This way, you won't have the problem of finding yourself right in front of the boss, which you absolutely don't want to happen if you want to stay alive.
By implementing this strategy, you will make the fight easier, as most of his attacks will not be able to hit you and, since you will be right next to him, the boss will not even make use of his ranged attacks. Although it can be a risky strategy if not done properly, it is actually the safest and most effective one to defeat Reinhold and put an end to this boss fight.
As for the attacks that will still manage to hit you, all you have to do is dodge them to avoid taking damage and counterattack to inflict damage on the boss. By following this strategy, at a certain point, you will manage to break his posture and Reinhold will fall to the ground. This is the right time to hit him with a stab attack to take away a large portion of his health.
In conclusion, what you will have to do to be able to defeat Reinhold and therefore put an end to this fight is to try to stay as much as possible below or behind him. This way, many of his attacks will fail to hit you and Reinhold will not use his ranged attacks. To make things even easier you can also make use of the Radiant bleed spell, as Reinhold is vulnerable to this spell.
However, once defeated, you will receive a Vestige Seed, Tancred's Key, and x8 Umbral Scouring as a reward. Furthermore, if you soulflay the Stigma after the battle, you will also receive x2 Umbral Scouring and the Remembrance of Tancred Master of Castigations and Reinhold the Immured as a reward. Bring this item to Molhu to get his armor and the Infernal Eruption and Radiant Guardian spells.
