Once you've defeated the Rapturous Huntress Lirenne boss, you won't have to progress far in the game before you find another boss to face: the Lords of the Fallen Judge Cleric. This boss is always found in the Abbey, in an area where there is a building very similar to a church, which can also be deduced from the name of the boss itself. Since it could be a boss that could create various difficulties for you to defeat, in this article, we have decided to give you some useful advice that you can follow.
How to beat Judge Cleric in Lords of the Fallen
As you will be accustomed by now, the Lords of the Fallen Judge Cleric is also a boss characterized by a battle divided into two distinct phases, even if, unlike the others, these are two complete phases. In each being there will be specific attacks to pay more attention to than the others, so pay attention to the advice we give you, in order to have an easier life against a boss that is not at all easy to face.
Phase 1
As soon as you enter the battle arena, the Judge Cleric will advance towards you and use a charged attack with her spear which is capable of covering almost the entire distance between you, so be careful not to be hit by this attack. Her main attack consists of three consecutive strikes, with the last one being significantly more powerful than the previous two.
The optimal strategy, in this case, would be to avoid this combo, so that you can have the chance to hit the Judge Cleric with a few hits. However, be careful that, after taking a certain amount of damage, Judge Cleric will decide to enter Radiant mode, which will allow her to use a sword imbued with this type of magic. However, the attacks are almost identical to the previous ones, so use the same strategy, also because, otherwise, you will take a huge amount of damage.
Another attack he can count on is to release Radiant thorns which, if touched, are capable of inflicting a lot of damage and reducing your movements. In this case, therefore, the only time you will have the opportunity to land hits is in his cooldown periods between one combo and another, so make good use of these moments.
Once you have been able to deal a lot of damage to the boss and his health is low, Judge Cleric will also make use of a Radiant arrow. Don't worry, because this type of move can be dodged without too many problems. However, be careful that this attack sometimes turns arrows into thorns, so be careful not to be caught off guard by this type of attack.
Before the arrow falls, you will be able to see a Radiant ring that will appear right around the boss, this will help you understand when the arrow is about to fall and when the thorns will be created; in this way, you will have a better chance of managing the spaces and moves to make. The best thing to do is to try in every way to avoid this attack so as not to find yourself with a lot of health no longer available.
Another attack you'll want to watch out for is when the Judge Cleric will start laughing and charge at you. This means that the boss is ready to release a wave of holy light that will cause a lot of damage. Our advice, in this case, is to dodge in the direction of this attack. In this way, in fact, you will not suffer any type of damage and you can think about avoiding subsequent attacks.
In fact, the problems don't end there. Another move in Judge Cleric's arsenal is Radiant beam. This attack has a very high range and therefore is not at all easy to avoid. In any case, try to dodge it in every way, especially if you have low health, otherwise, you will die instantly. Luckily for you, however, the Judge Cleric won't use this attack often, so you won't have to worry about it too much.
However, once you manage to deal enough damage to the Judge Cleric, she will fall to the ground, but she won't be dead. In fact, after a short cutscene, the second phase of the fight will begin. Get ready because this one will be even more difficult to deal with than the first one, so follow our advice almost to the letter if you don't want to die prematurely.
Phase 2
For this second phase, in addition to changing the way she presents herself, Judge Cleric will also make use of the Inferno magic, instead of the Radiant one. This means that her attacks are now capable of inflicting this type of magic and are even more powerful than those we dealt with during the first phase.
For example, the initial charging attack now has an even higher range, which makes it even more dangerous. Consequently, instead of dodging the blow backwards, the most effective strategy to use is to dodge it towards the sides, otherwise, you will definitely get hit. Additionally, her combo will make her return, although, this time, the last hit will feature Infernal spikes that will explode.
Our advice is to make use of spells and ranged attacks to inflict damage on this Lords of the Fallen boss. However, be careful that once you have dealt a certain amount of damage, the Judge Cleric will use a new charged attack. This time, however, the ring through which you must roll to avoid this attack will have the power to expand and shrink, which will make avoiding this attack even more difficult than it was before.
Once he reaches half of her health bar, be prepared to really suffer and almost never get the chance to get close to her. In fact, when she uses her lunging attack, it will now be followed by Infernal fireballs that bounce before exploding. Be very careful not to get hit and wait for Judge Cleric to land an Infernal symbol on the ground, which will mean she will go back to using her normal attacks. This is a good time to deal a good amount of damage to the boss, so don't waste it.
When she has little health left, Judge Cleric will rise into the sky to perform a plunging attack that is capable of releasing Infernal fireballs. Furthermore, in this very last phase of the battle, she will also rise into the air to carry out a charged aerial attack, so pay close attention to everything that is happening on the screen. Dodge this attack and you will have a chance to land hits to deal damage to her.
Ultimately, we can say that the fact that the boss fight against the Judge Cleric is made up of two full phases is certainly not the only thing that makes this fight difficult. If the first phase allows you to make mistakes and make some small errors, the second phase of the battle does not forgive anything. However, once you have defeated this Lords of the Fallen boss, you will receive a Vestige Seed and x8 Umbral Scouring as a reward for your arduous work. Also, don't forget to pick up the Thorned Chalice that she will drop as a drop.
