Two Worlds-winning teams met on the international stage once again for the LNG vs T1 Quarterfinals match
T1 — a name synonymous with World Championships — is the last team standing in front of total LPL dominance. Faker's squad just came out of a dominant series win against BLG, solidifying their spot in the quarterfinals. Their claim to their first Worlds title in 7 years has never felt so close, but their greatest match-up is yet to come. Up against T1 is LNG, a vigorous Chinese roster headed by Faker's old apprentice. The Summoner's Cup is within striking distance for both teams, but only one spot for semis remain.

LNG vs T1 Recap – Game 1
LNG took a gambit on locking in Blitzcrank to give their comp extra engage power, but T1's draft responded predictably — with a confident all-in Nilah-Senna bottom lane. T1 succeeding would make the unpopular ADC a must-ban champ, but only time would tell if Gumayusi could pull it off.
Game 1 of LNG vs T1 saw an excellent start from T1, which put LNG on the backfoot without much of an earlygame angle. Soon, Zeus had to hard push top to avoid a lane freeze, leading to Tarzan finding the gank and giving the LNG toplaner first blood. But after a while, T1 boldly reclaimed the lead and widened the gap with more dragons, more gold and more kills pre-15 minutes. In the end, LNG couldn't find a way to win teamfights or build an objective gold lead as T1 snowballed. An incredible start for T1.

LNG vs T1 Recap – Game 2
Game 2 of LNG vs T1. Another surprise composition from T1 as the Sylas we saw Faker play like a beast last year was drafted with a marksman botlane reminiscent of the LCK spring meta.
LNG faced another oppressive early game due to T1's aggressive playstyle. In the beginning, the LPL #3 seed got a big first blood on Faker at the 5-minute mark. But with their Summoner Spells down, LNG couldn't contest any dragons going forward. That said, the match surprisingly stayed even, prompting LNG and T1 to focus on objectives. A 23-minute Cloud Soul poised Faker and co. for a late-game advantage, and gave T1 control over the flow of the game. Eventually, a decisive fight for Elder ended with the LCK team annihilating LNG and bringing the bo5 series to match point.

LNG vs T1 Recap – Game 3
LNG's backs were against the wall in Game 3 of LNG vs T1.
The hard focus on T1's bottom lane gave LNG a few kills early on, but Faker's Azir constantly had his teammates backs. Every attempt to collapse on Gumayusi led to T1 finding a counter-play, giving T1 a commanding lead with yet another set of dragons. After a hard skirmish sent LNG back to base, T1 unleashed a Herald that demolished LNG's midlane. And after getting Hextech Soul, T1 slowly finished the series in a flawless 3-0.
