League European Championship Series Week 7 Predictions

Welcome to our LEC Week 7 predictions! Week Seven is a big week for many of the teams as some could possibly secure a playoff spot if they pull off victories in both their matches. The big story is the Fnatic and their unfavorable odds of making it into the Top 6. The predictions race is also heating up! These are our current standings: Brandon (39-21), Ibriz (38-22), Major (38-22) and Manny (36-24).

Friday, March 1st

12 PM ET Fnatic (5-7) vs Schalke 04 (7-5)

Schalke have been on somewhat of a freefall in the past two weeks and are looking to stop it before they fall right through a playoff spot. Schalke still holds all the cards to succeed, but they face a resurged Fnatic side that is looking to rack up as many wins as possible before the split ends. Fnatic needs to win 4 of 6 to have a chance to make it into playoffs, so it feels that each game has become life or death for the current European champions.

Brandon: Fnatic

Major: Schalke 04

Manny: Fnatic

Ibriz: Schalke 04

1 PM ET SK Gaming (6-6) vs Excel (2-10)

Excel feels to be the team that almost could. With the team almost guaranteed to not make changes I hope to see some changes in the lineups to see what can work in the next split. SK has already taken one victory and will be looking to add another as they find themselves in a very even and heated playoff race. It is getting to the point that dropping one game can mean you are out of playoffs.

Brandon: SK Gaming

Major: SK Gaming

Manny: SK Gaming

Ibriz: SK Gaming

2 PM ET Rogue (2-10) vs G2 Esports (11-1)

Can the miracle story come true when Rogue takes on G2? The likely outcome is not probable, but with G2 having secured a place in the playoffs this might be Rogue's best chance at beating the number one team in the region. G2 needs to win two more games to qualify as one of the top two seeds. After G2 failed against Origen, some thought that this could spell some troubling time for them; however, G2 has bounced back and seem as dominant as ever.

Brandon: G2

Major: G2

Manny: G2

Ibriz: G2

3 PM ET Origen (6-6) vs Splyce (7-5)

It seems that no team below Team Vitality is safe from a potential collapse that would ensue in missing playoffs. Two teams that are in the middle of this fight are Splyce and Origen. Splyce has already taken down Origen once, and they hope to accomplish that feat again. This is an improved Origen side, however. Origen has had a resurgence and showed the LEC that they could take anyone on even if they went 0-2 during last week's games. Splyce would like to remain as the line of good teams and great teams and would get a step closer if they secure the victory.

Brandon: Origen

Major: Splyce

Manny: Origen

Ibriz: Splyce

4 PM ET Misfits (6-6) vs Vitality (8-4)

Misfits versus Vitality will give us a great look at both teams and how far they have come since their week two clash. Misfits had a terrible time in the past few weeks and are looking to bounce back and stay in the all-so-important top six. Vitality will require a win to all but guarantee a place in the 2019 Spring split playoffs.

Brandon: Misfits

Major: Vitality

Manny: Vitality

Ibriz: Vitality

Saturday, March 2nd

11 AM ET SK Gaming (6-6) vs G2 Esports (11-1)

SK Gaming is hoping to get some favors from the other teams in the league when they face G2 in their second match of the week. SK has a lot of pressure as any dropped games can result in them missing out on playoffs. Luckily for SK, they hold the head to head record against Fnatic and will have that advantage in case both teams result tied at the end of the season. G2 want to keep their impressive record going making sure they secure a playoff bye and are guaranteed a trip to Rotterdam.

Brandon: G2

Major: G2

Manny: G2

Ibriz: G2

12 PM ET Schalke 04 (7-5) vs Splyce (7-5)

Splyce is looking for redemption as Schalke for the second time this split. During their first match, Splyce was able to establish that quickly went undone after a handful of woeful fights. Due to the recent decline of Schalke, we could see Splyce leapfrog their way into the Top 3 after this match.

Brandon: Schalke 04

Major: Splyce

Manny: Schalke 04

Ibriz: Splyce

1 PM ET Rogue (2-10) vs Fnatic (5-7)

Fnatic currently holds a 32% chance of making playoffs and will require a minimum of four wins to at least force a tiebreaker scenario. They face Rogue this time around, and it is wild to think that just four weeks ago neither of these two teams had a win. Fnatic is in a situation in which anything less than a victory will result in missing playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

Brandon: Fnatic

Major: Fnatic

Manny: Fnatic

Ibriz: Rogue

2 PM ET Excel (2-10) vs Misfits (6-6)

Excel has already had the chance to give Misfits a defeat. With a few weeks since then, it is difficult to see it occur again. Yet, Excel is a compelling team that has been slightly unfortunate throughout their season thus far. Misfits starting feeling the pressure and brought Hussain Moosvi back to help as the coach for the remainder of the split. Misfits are set on making a strong showing to prove that they are still one of the best teams in Europe.

Brandon: Misfits

Major: Misfits

Manny: Misfits

Ibriz: Misfits

3 PM ET Origen (6-6) vs Vitality (8-4)

Vitality has a tough week facing two of the main playoff contenders in Misfits and Origen. Luckily, Vitality has been able to take down both teams in the first half of the split. Origen has had a resurgence but fell short when facing Fnatic. Vitality is favored for the victory no that they stand as the second-best team in the LEC.

Brandon: Vitality

Major: Vitality

Manny: Vitality

Ibriz: Origen
