League of Legends: Cloud9 Acquire Zven from TSM

ESPN's Jacob Wolf reported that Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen will be moving from TSM to Cloud9. The move comes shortly after it was revealed that Cloud9 is also signing Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme for their new support.

Zven has a long record of success in LoL esports. He, along with Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre, was considered the best the bottom lane in the west when they were on G2 Esports. After they left G2, the duo moved to TSM, where they hit turbulence and underperformed.

After that, the duo split ways as Mithy joined Origen while Zven stayed on TSM. Zven, despite being a great player, continued to struggle under the TSM banner in the 2019 season and failed to make it to Worlds again.

For the upcoming year, Zven is moving to Cloud9 in an attempt to rebound and find some of that former glory. Cloud9 always seems to be only on the cusp of greatness, but with a proven ADC like Zven, it could be what they finally need to push forward that extra step. It will be quite interesting to watch and see how he and Vulcan do in 2020.

In addition, this draws questions as to what Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi will do. He's been an iconic part of Cloud9 for years, but with Zven's signing, it appears that his time with the team is coming to an end. Unless one of them is moving to an Academy spot, it would seem Sneaky is leaving for another team or to pursue other options outside of LoL esports.
