Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage Co-Op? The latest release has a few innovations on the AC format, but is a fresh Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer mode one of them?
The big Assassin’s Creed release for the year is Mirage. A smaller game, but one with a nostalgic bent that’s perfectly catered to long-time fans of the series. The new game returns in a big way to the roots of the Assassin’s Creed series. However, it’s definitely had some changes and modernizations. The mix of old and new is a key highlight that’s been picked up on by Assassin’s Creed Mirage reviews so far. However, there’s a feature a lot of fans might be looking for. Specifically, is Assassin’s Creed Mirage co-op?
While the AC series is traditionally quite single-player, the title has experimented with bigger co-op elements in the past. It wouldn’t be entirely unheard of for the game to make a move over to multiplayer. In recent years more games have managed to do traditional storytelling like we find in AC while containing compelling multiplayer. Plus, a core AC experience built for multiplayer has been worked on lately. Mirage definitely isn’t one of the games with a major focus on multiplayer though. So, is Assassin’s Creed Mirage co-op or is this an entirely solitary experience?
Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage Co-Op?
If you’re looking at Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer, it isn’t a part of the game. Assassin’s Creed Mirage co-op isn’t a part of the game. The core gameplay is entirely solo.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a shorter Assassin’s Creed title set in 9th-century Baghdad. The game is revisiting a more classic style for the series. However, gameplay is still completely single-player. Players will have to experience the entire game as a solo experience, outside of the normal streaming and other discussion that comes from any big game release. It’ll likely have plenty of discussion online around the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release if you want more of a conversation about what you’re playing.
Some fans speculated we might get some multiplayer in the game. This is a feature that’s been missing from recent instalments in the series, but it has been used in the past. Since Mirage brings back a few classic features and has a more simplistic approach to AC as a series. Some players thought co-op could be on the cards too. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Assassin’s Creed Mirage will ever have co-op. It definitely doesn’t at launch.
Are There Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer Modes?
Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage Co-Op is a no, but has Multiplayer ever been a particularly huge part of Assassin’s Creed? It’s had some notable appearances in the series, like in Brotherhood and Unity. However, for the most part, players tend to think of Assassin’s Creed as a single-player experience. Since there’s no Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer, this title more keeps the trend up and changes something for the series. The answer to is Assassin’s Creed Mirage co-op is no, not even in the more limited way we saw in some other titles. A traditional two-player mode is rarely a major feature in the series though.
In the past we’ve seen both co-op and competitive multiplayer experiences, but usually as a minor part of the game. Mirage is a bit more of a contained experience from the developer than recent AC games, and most of those didn’t offer Multiplayer either. While it is a solo experience, you can always compare progress with friends for a bit more of a collaborative effort!
Will Assassin’s Creed Mirage Multiplayer Come Later?
At launch, the answer to is Assassin’s Creed Co-op is definitely a no. What about the future though? We could expand bigger expansions to come to the game down the line. More recent AC games have all had quite a bit of DLC and other add-ons. It’s always possible that we get a Mirage co-op added as part of its post-launch support or AC Mirage DLC. Although, it doesn’t seem too likely.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer probably won’t happen. The game seems to be tailor-made for a more classic AC experience. It’s a call-back to the tighter and more focused games that came earlier in the series. It isn’t as expansive, even if there’s a fair few different things to do in the game. While multiplayer has been a factor before, it seems like it won’t be a part of this game.
Mirage won’t be multiplayer (most likely) there have been leaks and talks before about multiplayer AC games coming soon. We’ll likely see a new AC multiplayer experience that’s tailor-made for co-op play eventually. It just won’t be the world we see in Mirage. Knowing this series, it could be any time period or format when we get the dedicated multiplayer AC game.
So far, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a completely solo experience. It hasn’t been designed with two players in mind. While it’s always possible Ubisoft could change their mind, at the moment it’s not being discussed and seems unlikely. Assassin’s Creed Mirage probably won’t get a co-op side.
