Gen.G vs GAM Esports Preview and Predictions – LoL Worlds 2023

This high-stakes match-up could set up one of the biggest upsets in Worlds history. Gen.G vs GAM – LCK vs VCS

GAM Esports currently stands as the best VCS team in the running. After finding a second wind in their Play-Ins bracket, they've currently got the best shot in their region to make history. However, the VCS wasn't so lucky after the Swiss draw paired them up with Gen.G, an LCK behemoth that recently cracked the code with past-unbeatable teams like T1. That being said, as stacked as the odds are against the Vietnamese team, Gen.G is yet to translate their home victories into their first international win.

If you want to bet on League of Legends or love the game, this Gen.G vs GAM esports preview is for you!

T1's current rival and the winner of 2 straight splits in the venerated LCK, Gen.G are at the top of their game this season. Their commanding presence in the strongest region in the world says a lot about their chances of winning. Moreover, their trending placements at past World Championships (and past international tournaments) point towards another deep run. Their macro has never looked better, and it's going to take a lot to disrupt their cross-map control.

Gen.G Player Roster

  • Toplaner: Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon
  • Jungler: Han “Peanut” Wang-ho
  • Midlaner: Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon
  • ADC: Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan
  • Support: Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong

Player to Watch

Peyz knows just how to play the current meta, and with most of Gen.G's team fights following his lead, he becomes the perfect tip of the spear.

The best VCS team in the running, GAM Esports primary focus during their games is playing it safe and getting easy picks to funnel gold into their botlaner Slayder and achieve an undeniable lead. However, that usually means leaving turrets undefended. All in all, there's nothing noticeably special about their playstyle. But as things stand, Levi and co. are one the best all-around teams that came from Play-Ins.

GAM Player Roster

  • Toplaner: Trần “Kiaya” Sang
  • Jungler: Đỗ “Levi” Khánh
  • Midlaner: Đặng “Kati” Phê
  • ADC: Nguyễn “Slayder” Vương
  • Support: Nguyễn “Palette” Trung

Player to Watch

Albeit limited, Levi's champ pool is made of strong engage champs which he confidently plays to mess up the enemy's organization from unexpected angles.

GAM vs Gen. G Predictions

The safest bet has Gen G. coming out on top due to their time spent in a stronger region where League of Legends takes up 37.5% of the total population's play time., but that isn't a guarantee. This is the first time both teams are playing each other after all. Slayder's imaginative playstyle might just be what they (and the majority of the LCK) need to find the chinks in Gen.G's steel-plated armor.
