Epic Games has smartly associated its Fortnite Battle Royale title with numerous popular franchises and companies throughout the years. Some of these include crossovers with Marvel, National Football League, Stranger Things and Marshmello. Just last season, Fortnite separately crossed over with both Batman and Borderlands to introduce new players skins and rift zone locations, respectively, named Gotham City and Pandora. Epic Games’ history of successful co-promotional events has also resulted in popular Fortnite Limited Time Modes (LTMs) like the Fortnite Infinity Gauntlet LTM, which preceded the release of Avengers: Infinity War, and allowed players to control Thanos.

The Fortnite developers have added yet another excellent franchise crossover to their credit with Fortnite x Star Wars. A Tweet sent out by the official @FortniteGame Twitter account proclaimed that “The Imperial army has arrived!” This cross-promotional effort links Fortnite directly with the new Star Wars title, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.
What Does Fortnite x Star Wars Include?
At the moment, it appears that players have the option of purchasing a Stormtrooper character skin for 1500 V-Bucks. The Stormtrooper skin, named Set_01_AA, mirrors the Stormtrooper’s appearance in Star Wars episodes four through six. A Star Wars crossover is timely for Fortnite considering the recent launch of Disney + and the upcoming film that will end the newest Star Wars trilogy, Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker. A news post on the Epic Games website indicates how long the Stromtrooper skin will be available in addition to a reference the previously mentioned Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video games.

This crossover will likely only feature a character skin, but it is possible that an LTM or a Star Wars-themed rift zone could be in play. We will have to wait and see how the Fortnite x Star Wars relationship unfolds.
