Fortnite announced a ground-breaking partnership with the Liverpool professional football team earlier today.


This cross-promotion between the popular Battle Royale game and the famous English football club spawned an online Fortnite tournament. In the competition, players will compete to earn a brand new football-themed emote before it is available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop.

Raise The Cup Tournament

The Fortnite x Liverpool Raise The Cup competition will feature a squads format. Fortnite has not hosted a competitive squads tournament since Chapter 2 - Season 1. The stakes are much lower this time around, considering there is no actual prize pool for Raise The Cup. Players of all Arena ranks are eligible to queue into the tournament.

Tournament Dates and Format

Raise The Cup is a one-round tournament. The lone session will last approximately three hours, and players can play a maximum of ten matches during that timespan. Competitors in all seven competitive regions will be able to participate. Fortnite’s Raise The Cup tournament will take place on August 18.

Scoring System

Fortnite’s Competitive Twitter account release the ruleset for this competition earlier today. The scoring system for Raise The Cup is as follows:

  • Victory Royale: 30 points
  • 2nd: 24 points
  • 3rd: 21 points
  • 4th: 19 points
  • 5th: 17 points
  • 6th: 15 points
  • 7th: 14 points
  • 8th: 13 points
  • 9th: 12 points
  • 10th: 11 points
  • 11th: 10 points
  • 12th: 9 points
  • 13th: 8 points
  • 14th: 7 points
  • 15th: 6 points
  • 16th: 5 points
  • 17th: 4 points
  • 18th: 3 points
  • 19th: 2 points
  • 20th: 1 point
  • Each Elimination: 2 point

Placement points for this competition begin at the top 20 and each elimination is worth two points.

Prize Pool

The Fortnite x Liverpool Raise The Cup tournament does not feature a monetary prize pool. Instead, squads that finish inside a certain threshold will receive the brand new Raise The Cup emote. The emote depicts a character raising a trophy similar to the UEFA Champions League European Cup that the Liverpool Football Club won for the sixth time last season. Here are the placement thresholds per region that will warrant a Raise The Cup emote.
