Fortnite Winterfest 2021: Shroom Crescent Pickaxe Revealed As 15th Present

Winterfest 2021 goers will soon receive a free in-game pickaxe as compensation for last month’s login issues.
Fortnite Winterfest 2021 has almost reached its conclusion after two weeks of holiday fun. The event featured rewards, quests and in-game elements for players to experience. However, the free presents located in Sgt. Winter’s Cozy Cabin once again took the center stage. Players had the opportunity to unlock 14 free in-game rewards, including a Matrix-themed Glider, Shovel Pickaxe and two free skins.
Those who have been playing for the last two weeks might notice that there is one present remaining after opening all 14. The undismissable notification instantly raised confusion; what is the final parting gift from Epic Games?
The developers have finally revealed the 15th Winterfest present, and it’s sure to garner interest from the community.
Free Madcap Pickaxe Reward

Fortnite data miner ShiinaBR informed some 760K Twitter followers of Epic’s plans to finally release the long-awaited Madcap skin. This mushroom-based character has been somewhat of a mystery for several seasons, even appearing in Chapter 2 Season 8 as a non-player character (NPC). It seems Chapter 3 Season 1 will mark Madcap’s debut.

This may seem unrelated to the Winterfest 2021 topic at hand, but it’s not. Epic Games revealed in-game and on Twitter today that Madcap’s Crescent Shroom Pickaxe will be the 15th present. The item should arrive in players’ lockers this weekend so long as you played Fortnite during Winterfest 2021, which ends January 6.
It’s not clear when Madcap will be available in the Item Shop, but the character should be available soon. If you miss out on claiming the free Pickaxe, you’ll be able to purchase it separately or presumably as part of the Madcap set.
